Yep, I've had to do that twice. Only way to do it cheap is put boat on a trailer and syphon gas out through sending units into 5-gal cans. You wont get it all out so you have to keep an eye on your fuel water seps.

A good tip for removing the old hoses is to heat them up with a heat gun. Softens them up and the come right off the fittings.

The HP fuel clamps did not have to be removed to check the VST. If the HP pump filter was loose laying in the bottom of the VST there's a good chance you injector screens & pressure regulator screen is dirty. If the motor is running good, great! Now I would definately replace the onboard...

I've had a problem with the port motor burning more fuel than the stb and could never figure out why. Someone suggested trimming the port motor a little more or less to see if that changes things and sure enough it did. Trimmed the port motor up just a tad more than the stb and seemed to solve...

Negative, they are primer pumps and take the place of primer bulbs. You have 1-3 low pressure fuel pumps depending on the size of your engine.
