Used to fish out of Mt. Sinai a lot as a kid with my dad, so you would be right.

Anything East of PJ would be a decent trip for you and you have to pick your days, especially if the wind is coming out of the East. Port Jeff is great, after that you have Mt. Sinai and then it's kinda dead for a long distance.

Sometime this summer we are looking to take a trip over to S. Norwalk. Any local knowledge on transient docking or other pertinent information would certainly help.

I'm 30 minutes or so east of Northport which is right below you. :)

Is anything mechanical actually in the water or just the skeg? On mine, if it's resting on the support, part of the skeg is in the water but I have bottom paint on that one section.

My family loves the 228. Kids can play in the cabin all day, then nap as well if they get lulled to sleep. Nice and cool in there too with the windows open, in fact they usually want a towel over them because it gets cooler than anywhere else on the boat. Jumpseats work just fine as well, never...
