Take a strip of the original to Home Depot or Lowes and run it through their paint matching machine. It should give you the numerical color code.

I have the 2882. I agree no need for the display. I keep mine attached to the ditch bag and an older unit easily accessible at the helm. If you call them tell them you were at a boat show and see if they will give you a boat show discount or point you in the direction of someone who will.

I think the only true water ground is a device like a Dynaplate or outdrive. Could you use a through hull sea cock that is all brass, like the scupper for the head fill?

And whatever you use to pull the wire through, add another section and leave it there! I have a length of small line that runs from the switch panel to the transom in case I need to pull anymore wires.
