Well, I'll be flush mounting new electronics and moving the Furuno radar....I'll also be flush mounting the guages on starboard, so I'll have to remove all those and make sure the connections are good. What I don't want to do right now is pull new wire through the entire boat...just...

Do I need zincs on my trim tabs?

If you are keeping your boat in the water, no question - zinc the tabs. Here is my new to me Voyager that sat in the brine and did not have zinc on the tabs: I'll be replacing these very soon..... In my mind, no reason not to put zinc on them. I see tons of boats in my neck...

    Prop Size - 248 Voyager

Also - if my budget can allow for a new proper size/pitch stainless, is it better to go with the correct size/pitch alumnium or keep the current stainless on? My thought is, I'd rather have the right prop in aluminum than a poorly performing stainless one.....

Ok - I know I've posted alot of different questions here...but I've got a new boat coming and am trying to budget what I need to do to it. I think it is underpropped. Power is a 1997 250 OX66 EFI. Prop is an "Apollo XHS" 4 blade stainless. Size is 14 5/8 x 16. From what I've...

    New Grady Owner

I'm excited about the Raymarine - my buddy has a C120 classic on his boat and its a great piece of equipment. I had the option of replacing the Furuno Navnet 7" w/ a NavNet VX2 radar/plotter for $1200 or get a whole new Raymarine plotter/sounder with ability to upgrade to HD radar in the future...

    New Grady Owner

Pez Vela - Thanks....I'm really excited. I purchased a Raymarine C90W-- from getfeetwet.com....they are great to deal with! Anyhow, the C90W is teh only model I can fit in there without too much modification....I'm going to do a flushmount. I'll try to fit the furuno in the console, but...

    Electronics decision

Have you considered Raymarine? Their new C series wide units are great. And, despite rumors, they are not going out of business. I just bought a C90W GPS/sounder package at a screaming price.. I have separate furuno Radar, but the C90W is compatible with Raymarine's Digital Radomes so...

I need suggestions on how to deal with removing some older and somewhat corroded (but still quite usable) trim tabs, and reinstalling them. OR, perhaps you have a suggesion on how to check them. The boat previously sat in the salt....so there is some galvanic corrosion. The purpose of...

I just went through the same debate......and read alot on this forum about it... My only caveat here is that I've not been out in a gulfie...but from everything I hear, they are awesome. There are alot of threads on the pros-cons. The Gulfie, IMHO, is the most boat for the...
