I have a 33 and repowered from 225s to 250s. It may get on plane a bit more quickly but other than that, no noticable difference. If the deal is right and the hours are low I expect the 225s will be fine.

Make sure the cap for the pump out is closed tightly. If it is loose even a bit the discharge pump won't work.

I've changed that bulb before but it has been a while I do remember it was tricky to figure it out, then once I did it was pretty simple. I am going to be on the boat this weekend. I'll take a look at it.

I'm going from memory, but I think you take a small screwdriver and pop off the plastic globe change the bulb and pop it back in.

Looking for some opinions regarding fuel additives. Do I need to use anything other than ring free? If so what? As far as I know ring free does not have any stabilization properties. Thanks

I had f225s that were fished a lot and I did not get the yes warranty and I wish I had. At about 1500 hours I started having problems with fuel pumps, oil sending units, computers etc.

I just had one installed and I don't think the oil change will be tough, but there is a valve adjustment that needs to be done between 35 and 50 hours that I will let the dealer handle Also depending on the model there is an oil strainer that needs to be cleaned.

I just replaced the 225s with 250s and while the 250s have a little more pep out of the hole there is not much difference in cruising speed. Usually the ocean dictates how fast you go, not the engines.

I just repowered with f250s and new controls/gauges. When I was running the boat back home, I noticed that at speed, the starboard engine voltage fluctuates from mid to low. At idle it stays right in the middle. I think this engine is in the house side. Does anyone else have this issue...

Not online, but Crockers Marine in Wrightsville Beach NC seems to keep a good bit of stuff in stock. I didn't have any problem setting up an account with them they are very knowledgable and the turn around is fast.
