My Yamaha F250TXR does an excellent job all the way around but wouldn't want to go with less. The new ones are rated 300hp which, IMHO, would be as near perfect as could be. But mine is only rated for 250 hp so that's the limit.

I normally find the best price 4 stroke oil (same for 2 stroke oil) via the internet by searching google or yahoo "shopping." Then print and price match at west marine. Sometimes I just order online if it's not needed right away.

Others more knowledgeable will chime in but take it from a guy that deals in structural repairs, I would probably support that removed material in some way before taking her out again.

Great posts above. I start out trimming the engine till' it sounds stress free. Then tab the keel down till' it rides best, then re-adjust engine trim accordingly.
