    Dishwasher (I know )

Had a Miele it was a piece of junk. Have Kenmore Elite now. Twice the capacity and just as quiet and NO problems. Ditto on Sub Zero being a POS. Compressors leak and the design is ridiculous, way too deep, you cant find any thing in the back.

Question re gas tank configueration on 1992 Marlin

yes Main tank forward and auxiliary aft. I did both my senders this summer. Florida tanks who built these is still in business and sells replacement senders. The original ones with the analog gauge on top so you could pop the access hatch and see your fuel level manually are no longer...

    SunScreen Stains

Stay away from the aerosol cans This is a great spray on sunscreen with a pump not a propellent. I've been using it for ten years. Never leaves a mark. No alchohol or oil in it. www.kinesys.com

    West Coast Grady Club

If we need Capstan we are scr#$@d I don't understand Capstan at all. It seems they only want to sell new boats for cash. You phone for parts and they: a) won't have it b) have no interest in getting it for you c) won't tell you where to get it d) encourage you to just go away because you're...

    Frustrated with grady deck...

Deck Hatches Look on the internet. I darn did the same thing on my Marlin. Access to my generator and the thru hulls is bad. I hate lying on my belly while holding a flashlight to see anything. http://www.gotohmg.com/products.cfm this site caught my eye on a quick search.

    Trim Tabs

Bennetts are bullet proof I just pulled the hatch to check out mine. The pump is 17 years old and looks like new except that the resevoir is impossible to see through now as the plastic has aged. I've heard of replacing the actuators (rams?) but not the pumps. If you keep your boat in the water...

    Gunnel Thickness

I think well over an inch I put a bbq on bayonet mounts on my port gunnel and I think the plugs were over 1 1/2" . The guy who helped me was amazed at the amount of material. My boat is a '92 Marlin but I think Grady put a lot of material in this area on all their boats. Why not phone Grady and...

    Cabin Bulkheads-Cust Service

I disagree on the production excuse Grady has always been a much higher priced boat and should deliver a higher quality product. Their customer service seems to be capable of claming down irate people and keeping their JD Powers numbers up. I wish Grady would set up an internet shop and...

    Battery Wiring for Marlin 300

What year Marlin and how many batteries total? Marlins have 4 batteries as far as I know. Two house batteries and one one for each engine. Are you saying you have 5 batteries or that one of the house batteries has been replaced with an 8D?

    Fuel Tank Removal

Sending unit problem-don't have to remove tank I just replaced both sending units on my tank. Stuff a wet rag in the hole even if the tank is empty. Take a Dremel and grind the broken screws off flat. They won't leak the stainless screws have "welded" themselves to the aluminum. Turn the sender...

    Battery and charger advice

I think gauges are off I will get the voltages tested but I'm assuming the analog gauges are just off a bit. I'm only guessing but I see the 2.5 volt output jump when I throttle up and have assumed the alternators are fine.

    Older Grady a Good Idea?

Open all the hatches too Have them pull up the hatches. You can't see anything thru the little deck plates. Look for leaks everywhere and try out every system.

twin engines, dual fuel tanks - how do you like to use them?

Aft tank first I run my aft tank until it's about 2/3 empty then switch to my main tank. I'm pretty careful about getting too far down and always head for more fuel with lots of cushion. I run the aft tank down first because my boat (Marlin) is better balanced with less weight aft. I like to...

    Battery and charger advice

I'm thinking of up grading my batteries and charging system. I find it frustrating to really have no idea as to how much charge my batteries have and what condition they are in. I run a four battery system in my 1992 Marin. Two engine and two house batteries. At idle my alternators put out about...

    Raymarine C80 questions

I have the classic version Raymarine C80 set up. Radar,GPS and fishfinder. I finally got my boat all buttoned up and took it out on Saturday. I got a "DSM signal lost" error message several times and the screen would flicker from time to time. I searched the Raymarine site and several other...

    Older Grady a Good Idea?

Go ahead I bought a 1992 Marlin four years ago. It had been repowered with 1997 Mercury 250hp EFI Offshore engines. Then it had been allowed to sit and rot for about six years. I got a "deal" on the boat but I have pretty much been through the whole boat. New stove, new water heater, new...

Raw water wash down and fresh water tank issues, need help

I think it froze I live in Vancouver and keep my Marlin in a boat house with a heater. given the winter we just had I bet you fresh water system froze solid. I would open up the access and fill it with water and some kind of die like food colouring. Any joint that can't expand without breaking...

Raw water wash down and fresh water tank issues, need help

Fresh Water Leak Did you drain the fresh water tank before leaving it for the winter? Also, I'm assuming you have a hot water tank and when my fresh water system was leaking into the bilge the culprit was the cold water intake into hot water tank was leaking at the hose. Everything is on the...
