My 03 came from the factory with Dekka batteries - when I bought it in 06 I called GW. They said that the West Marine Batteries were made by Dekka. I replace every 3 years with no issues.

Re: Livewell Pump Running with Switch Off??? In a pinch I have ran my washdown hose into the livewell in the same situation. Save bait on water, fix problem later.

Make sure they use Yamaha parts too! Not aftermarket or non Yammy...

I am going thru the same process on our 2003 (less pulling the tanks). We are gonna redo all the fuel lines. I actually think its a pretty easy process as we can lift off the decking and access all the hoses. I have a friend who is a mechanic and he said it took him a few hours to do the same...

For starters you need to close the overboard / discharge seacock. It should only be opened for use (to discharge). Personally, I go to the fuel dock and pump out, even when I do go offshore and could legally discharge.

I keep a boat just east of you in Norwalk - like anything, best if you can pick and chose your days. The LIS is a great body of water but she is a nasty sob when the wind kicks up. 10-15s out of the east or west can lead to a really nasty chop and if wind is against the tide do expect a sore...

When the manual head on our 2003 265 "crapped" out we just replaced the whole unit. Wasn't much more expensive that the replacement parts for the pump and super easy to install.

Lots of here to help 265 past and present owners here to help - do not overtab - rule # 1! Lite taps on the rockers to adjust..hit those throttles and go! Owned mine since 06 and never looked back.

Any chance a sinker or something else might be blocking? Had the same problem years ago on a deck drain and it ended up being a sinker that was causing the issue.
