    Price For a Bottom Job?

Sounds about right. If it's done properly 1500-1600 plus the cost of the soda should do it. The blast should leave the hull pretty bare. The tabs should be dropped to get those hidden areas. Then clean, dewax, sand, dewax and apply Interlux Interprotect 2000E for fiberglass sealing (4 coats)...

    I hate my generator

The marlin genset is mounted in a bad place for water intrusion, under the vertical access door where positively sealing against rain and splash is virtually impossible (the area around the hinges is vulnerable). Once the corrosion starts, there's no turning around. If one had early insite...

Question about WOT for yamaha 150

Do you mean MPH? 5100 is a little short on top end rpm's. What model, year boat? The performance chart shows 5800 top end. http://www.gradywhite.com/popup/specs.p ... &file=F150

    Boat Gremlins :(

The tach acting up simultaneously with the motor would suggest an electrical problem, not fuel. Many tachs get their signal from a sensor on a plug wire. Assuming this is the case on your motor, I'd check the plug wires with particular attention to the wire with the tach sensor. A loose plug...

    Yamaha 225

Mark the water line, then sand, prime and paint the next time out of the water. Petit make an aerosol primer and aluminum paint specifically for that purpose. You still should scrub it regularly as those barnacles are stubborn critters.

    Shore Power

How did you cross 120 with 240? THe plugs are different. At any rate, there should be an additional breaker near the shore power outlet - generally under the gunnel. You'll have to stand on your head to look for it.

    Trim indicator problem

Assuming your talking about the trim indicators for a Yammi F225 or F250, if you look at the (right side facing from the rear) pivot point of each motor (the hinge on which they raise and lower), you'll see a small black arm attached to a rheostat. These arms are notorious for freezing in...

    Chalkiness on a 2006

It really depends where you are and how you maintain the boat. The intense sun and heat in FL is brutal on wax and gelcoat. A cover can help tremendously. Also, the products you use for cleanup can have a major effect on how long a waxing lasts. 3M products are good. I've recently switched...

    Circuit breaker board Marlin 300

My 2004 Marlin had no circuit breaker for the bilge pumps in the cabin panel. It DID have a breaker that controlled power to the switches on the operators console (called cockpit switch panel). The bilge pumps are automatic with float switches and connected to the battery power through the...

Trim Gauge Not working-- Yamaha 225

Catch22 got it right. Consider not replacing it and relying on ride and rpm's to help you trim out. Those senders are notorious for failing unless they're sprayed with water, then lubricant on every trip - then they still fail.

    batteries question

boslaw: Where are you located? Perhaps some friendly soul on the forum might be willing to visit and give you a primer. I really would be worth your while to meet with an experienced boater and talk about boats in general and your boat particularly.

    Livewell operation

Running the livewell overnight is not a problem as long as you have power to keep the batteries up.

    problem with breaker panel

Year of your 33? What gauge are you reading amps and volts from??? Can I assume you're talking about AC - 120Volt? And were you on shore power?

    27 Sailfish Cavitation Issue

Is the 258 mounted without a fairing block? If so, exactly how is it mounted? Adding the fairing block (assuming there's none there now) will only enlarge the profile and probably make the problem worse. As Grog said, a flat mount transducer should resolve the issue. I'm not familiar with...

    Teak Repairs

Resorcinol (sp) is waterproof and works very well for a permanent joint. I've used it extensively in teak woodworking. DAP WELDWOOD Resorcinol Waterproof Glue is a high performance, two component adhesive designed to provide the strongest, most durable bonds in severe service application...

    27 Sailfish Cavitation Issue

Sounds like you've already diagnosed your problem. You didn't say how far to the port or starboard the transducer centerline is from the motor centerline, or how wide and deep the transducer is - but you can almost bet it's the culprit.
