Bobp: Freeport marine has them only in 5 or 10 amps nothing in the middle. I am going to go w/ a 10amp since the 5 will not cut it since the pump I have in there calls for a 6. Local Grady dealer said to go w/ the 10amp as well. May perhaps put an inline glass one rated at 6.

Looking to change out several fuses on the accessory panel at the helm. These are the resetable ones where you push in that rubber boot if the fuse pops. Any sources aside from Grady..?? Thank you.

You don't need the 'kit', just the 'O' ring.. Live and learn.. Now you know for next time...

Every two years or so mine would leak as well.. At that point I would remove the wheel and the three screws behind it and change out the 'O' ring for the helm. Costs about $2. Make sure to top-off your helm w/ fluid as required. An easy and cheap fix.

If I may interject... I think the 16x18.5 will be too much prop given this hull's characteristics. A buddy of mine is testing out a 300 on a 232 and with a 15.5x19 could only make a WOT of 5100rpm.. These hulls w/ the 250hp that they were rigged w/ normally had a 17M prop. I think a 17 pitch...

40-42% better mpg is what you will get by moving to the newer Etec 2 stroke. What you may get w/ a 4-stroke, I would not know..

Well I got the 4" nipples and got the tabs in. They also sent me some extra hose for the run up to the cabin but that is not where the pump went. The starboard and port storage box in this 228 had minimal room to work in so I opted to put the pump on the transom to starboard of the knee...

I ended up replacing the old brittle plastic ones with more of the same for now. The old ones broke off real easy and I cut down a new set for that drain. Its just amazing how the sun weakens the plastic. Everything else went stainless.. :)

Which came first... the chicken or the egg..?? I have seen plastic thru the transom fittings with a radial crack just like yours. Figured it was due to over-torqueing of the fitting during Grady's rigging of the boat. Either way it needs to be checked out a bit more. I hope it amounts to...

I would always replace my thru hulls as needed with the standard Perko plastic replacement ones since in the older hulls access was much more difficult than with the SeaV2 hulls. I am now lucky enough to have newer hull, so access is much better and I would like to perhaps switch to Stainless...
