    Scupper Hose Replacement 272

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I've looked at the stb. side carefully, maybe I'll get lucky. As with most hard to access areas PITA is a given. I won't be back to the boat for a week or two, if you get a chance see if you can reach the scupper hose clamps on your boat and let me know your results.

Those are tried & true methods under reasonable access. Try reaching the the 4 points of contact on a 1998 Sailfish or later please, then give me your thoughts My boat is 140 miles distant. You can access under rear seat without cutting the deck but I doubt that will be effective. Please verify...

    Scupper Hose Replacement 272

I know there have been a number of topics on this. Port is easy as I already cut in an access panel below the livewell plus the livewell can be removed. I'll have to cut an access panel probably thru the deck for starboard. Has anyone done this? How did you do it and do you have any pics?

    My Motor Broke

Ignition switch is a good place to start. I had the same problem on my prior boat with OMC's. The killswitch is wired to the ignition switch, I think a purple wire also may be yellow & black. Time has a way with memory. Take the purple/BY wire off the switch & try to start. if it starts the...

    1998 272 Sailfish, few questions

I have the same boat. Your speed at 3900 seems awfully low. Are you maeasuring by GPS or speedo? If by GPS your unit of measure may be in knots, not mph. GPH is close. http://www.a-maz.com/waterstainremover.phpry

    Charging while in dock

My 3 bank Guest charger had the house side charging circuit fail to shut off, frying a house battery. Switched to a Genius 4 2 years ago & have had no problems. Leave it on all the time, with engine batts switched off. Got it at batterystuff.com.

2005 Marlin 300 anchor and rode

I'd contact Grady White with hull # of your boat and ask them. Next contact windlass mf with model of windlass & ask them. Windlass chain is different than other chain plus on smaller windlasses the rode is direct spliced to the chain.

    Windlass Problem

The 2 way bearing in the clutch is the problem. I learned the hard way. Never use the windlass to hold the boat at anchor or in the pulpit. You have to disassemble the winch down to the clutch plate and use 2 vise grips to free the bearing. If it won't free up the new one costs about $400.00 I...
