why respace engines when repowering from 2 stroke to 4 strok

Re: why respace engines when repowering from 2 stroke to 4 s In this case the motors are the same length as each other 2 stroke to 4 stroke the onle diff is the fact that they are heavier.I still can't see what 2INCHES does.I had a worldcat and they were 4 feet apart. That makes a diff. But 2...

why respace engines when repowering from 2 stroke to 4 strok

Re: why respace engines when repowering from 2 stroke to 4 s Bob I measured mine at 28.5.I then went down to a marina and measured a 2007 at 32.5. Both are Bimini 306's.My question is why ? and what if you don't respace?.The difference in yamaha and suzuki weight of 225's is 3 pounds.Susuki...

why respace engines when repowering from 2 stroke to 4 strok

I realize this IS what Grady says to do.I also realize that many boats with twins were repowered without respacing the engines. Can someone say why it would be necessary to go from 28.5 inches apart to 32.5 inches? What does it accomplish and is it a good idea to put new holes so close to the old...

    Marlin Not Tracking Well

Why the need to re drill the holes?, For example, my boat is in the two stroke position, yamaha's weighed 493 each, 2-stroke,---- suzuki weigh 580 a piece 4 stroke.I am curious to know why it's needed to poke 8 new holes in the transom , my boat new, came from naples by the way. What does the "2...

    Marlin Not Tracking Well

:goodjob Be sure to bleed both rams on the motors and you would be best served to have a mechanic with a power purge do the job.Air is a difficult thing to eliminate on a boat.Glad I nailed it for you.The theory is, there are too many boats on the water for it to be the hull.Usually steering...

    New Grady White Painted hulls

Paint above the water line will look good for years with little to no maintanence except washing.Just compare your cars finish to gel coat. It's a fact, color or not painted boats done with the correct materials are much better looking over time. Most all the 60 plus footers are painted not...

    Marlin Not Tracking Well

Be sure you don't have any air in the steering lines. This could add to you having to correct all the time. Also be sure the engines are aligned properly.Be sure that the engines are pushing in a uniform direction and one is Not pushing in a direction fighting the other. :hmm

Trim the bow up and be sure the cabin isn't overly stuffed.By stuffed I mean with too much stored baggage. Also it may be your using too much tab.In following seas you want the bow up a bit so when coming down a wave it carves a slight path not digging in.And, it's possible you were going too...

How to tell a stainless hardtop from an alum one ?

Stainless welds will be as shiny as the tubing, aluminum will be more dull than the tubing and usually been painted at the build. The welders of aluminum usually paint the welds to keep them looking good. :goodjob

ValvTect vs. other fuels, any thoughts?

I am using valve tec in Fl.My reason is If I can get non-ethonol, For a little more than ethonol plus the additives, I would be nuts not to use valve tec since they already put good stuff in the gas.AND NOT CORN!It is also higher octane than most would buy.My guy says other than the condensation...
