    Freedom 21 occasional overnighter

Absolutely - go for it! I've done it on a 21' Sea Ray which is basically the same thing for what we're talking about. We folded the back-to-back seats down to sleep on - not too bad. Granted, we were in our early 20's at the time so back issues weren't, well, an issue! We just snapped the...

    Freedom 307 Bilge

Looks like you accidentally clicked on someone else's post. When you're in a sub-forum, look for the "post thread" button and start there :)

    Freedom 307 Bilge

I don't know your boat... and someone will likely respond back to help better... But do you also have a forward bilge where there IS pump... and is the center bilge supposed to drain there but the drain hole between the two is currently plugged? Otherwise, installing a bilge pump might be in...

    Lost my gas cap today...

No, he decided a cap was really an unnecessary item on a boat and only serves to make filling up a longer process. Besides, not using a cap lessens the chance of losing the cap :) :) :) I take it you didn't read through the thread? :)

Freedom 225 Floor Access Panels 2014 boat.

A little side tip... bury some heavy fishing line or something like mason line. Next time you pull the hatch to check the tank, remember which corner you left the two ends in... dig them out and pull - it will slice through caulk. Speaking of that... when WAS the last time you checked the fuel...

Freedom 225 Floor Access Panels 2014 boat.

Look up how to videos. There's lot's of them. Yes, there's a cheap tool at HD (and pretty much everywhere) that works nicely. Or your finger.

    Lost my gas cap today...

Agree. Did the dealer at least get back to you with the part info (once the lady forwarded the info to the parts department)? I know dealerships are swamped and are still running with smaller departments and/or the people they can find to hire aren't really "the best". But one would think...

Freedom 225 Floor Access Panels 2014 boat.

They're definitely there - it's a pretty common thing. But sometimes the search tool on forums isn't so good. But there's nothing really new/special about this. It's kind of a "2+2" thing, you know? Remove, clean, re-caulk. That's pretty much it! :)

Freedom 225 Floor Access Panels 2014 boat.

There's actually tons of threads about this on this site if you want to search. But, in the end, there really isn't any magic - get all the old stuff out (multiple way to do this) and apply new. Applying caulk in the seam is no different than applying caulk around your bathtub at home. Push...

Be wary of the station wagon effect mentioned above.

    Generator for A/C

Southfork, this is something I previously partially wrote and partially (well, primarily!) copied from a different forum. I am not saying to use it or to not use it - just offering some factual information (not the "I've been doing it for years and I'm fine thing") since you, being a fire...

    Lost my gas cap today...

Yeah, especially for something as common as a Perko cap... granted, these are a "newer" cap, but still.... It could be that the lady who answered the phone doesn't really do "parts" - that's understandable. Lots of calls come in on Monday mornings and figuring out the parts program is not as...

    Lost my gas cap today...

If you dive down at the dock, you'll probably find 100 gas caps If you're going to your dealer tomorrow, you won't need a part number. They'll know.

    Trim Tabs Unresponsive

Bennett systems are typically one of the most reliable systems ever created for a boat, going decades without even giving them a second thought. Of course, your boat is now 3 decades old, so...... You didn't happen to press up on one switch and down on the other at the same time, did you? If...

    Transom thru hole

What do you mean by "2" hose, thru hull, drain" can't be replaced? Absolutely, they can all be replaced. Your flapper is pushed inwards. Flappers don't stop water from entering the hose when the boat is at rest - they're meant to do so when backing down. Too much weight in a corner (bilge...

    Freshwater system issue

When you opened the pressure relief valve, you should have then had water exiting the thru-hull. From what you wrote, it sort of sounds like you didn't have that. Which means it's not full. Your HWH output line appears to have very dark liquid in it? Bleed: get the air out. Open the relief...

    Freshwater system issue

It was mentioned above that you need to let the pump fill the hot water tank completely before all faucets will work correctly... from both the hot AND cold. This is EXACTLY the same idea as how your hot water heat works at home. Have you done that, yet (filled the tank completely)? Gotta...

    Aft floor drains

You might be on to something there. I thought it was odd that he used the word "push"... but I made an assumption that he just used the wrong word since it would be obvious that the flaps weren't right if they were pushed into the hole and not acting like they should... and that the obvious fix...

    Freshwater system issue

A Vacuflush is pretty cool. It is very efficient and uses very little water to flush. There's a separate vacuum system and holding tank that creates vacuum at the toilet. The toilet bowl has a ball valve at the bottom of the bowl. The foot pedal does two things... it is a "handle" to allow...

    Freshwater system issue

It's not like the tubing is going to zig-zag all over the place. This stuff is laid in place before the two halves of the boat are put together and they're not going to use more tubing than they need, you know? Plus, if you think about it, it's all within just 30' of each other.
