Do you have twins or single? Hydraulic steering or cable? My understanding is the fin is really for single outboard with cable steering to offset any steering issues from the propeller thrust. A few places still sell them but you have to confirm with them before you purchase that they're not...
Acr global, vhf with GPS/distress, handheld vhf and 3plbs on life vest. If any of them fail I want to know I have a backup plan. I do like the acr because if the 10yr battery and easy replacement of it.
After reading all this I realized I didn't provide what engines I'm running. 2005/6 f250's Incase it comes into comparison with other posters and other gear ratios. Good call seasick!
Not sure where your located but I have one from my 282 I'm looking to get rid of. I took the microwave and a/c off the boat when I first bought it and haven't used it since.
I purchased a 2001 282 sailfish a couple of years ago. And since remove the air conditioner because honestly I don't need it here in the Northeast and want to remove unnecessary weight from the boat. Is this worth anything? Model VRP7KGW
Lol I probably know much less than you about props if that helps any lol. It makes me question maybe I should try a set of lower pitched props to see if it helps with the fuel economy. Either way it's good to know that he is getting such great performance numbers with those props.
That's pretty interesting numbers considering two things.
1-grady white tested this boat with the Yamahas and the 15-1/4x19 why would they do that if they could get better numbers with a lower pitch?
2- I thought it would have lower pitch you would lose fuel economy? I bet that's one of the...
I posted the below paragraph on a similar thread recently:
"I recently switched my m-19's to a pair of the same props I had as spares, but had them refinished to compare numbers. I also did this while my boat was being worked on the other week, so clean painted bottom. I ran the new props in...
Like others said. Leave it there and paint the sides with bottom paint and face with transducer paint. Either way if you need a back up or secondary transducer in there future it's in place already. I actually just removed my furuno fcv-627 and b744 from my sailfish. It was a really great combo...
If I'm not mistaken that's a b744 transducer and the paddle wheel is replaceable. But honestly unless ur depending on it for water speed/not actual speed, there's no reason to even bother.
Exactly what Dennis is saying. Check all the wires to and from the pump. Also check the wires from the switch. I'm not saying pumps don't fail but it's very uncommon.
If you have a twin set-up then they should be pointed straight back. The propellers rotation direction should counteract each other. In fact for my twin Yamahas they don't even sell the anodes with the fins anymore.
Is the unit getting power? Can you hear the pump running when you push the switch? Start with simplest issues to eliminate and then go deeper into it. There could be a hundred reasons why it's not working. You need to start testing from the power source and move your way towards the pump.
