Inspecting and Cleaning Original Fuel Tanks in 2002 Grady 330

Great job! Appreciate the info and pics. I have a ‘96 272, that I purchased last year, and am having some fuel issues. I want to put new fuel lines from the tanks to the filters but my boat is 4 hrs away and wanted to order some fuel line before I head down. Any chance you know the size and...

I’m not near my boat and needed to order fuel line to replace existing lines from tanks to valves. I believe it’s 3/8, can someone confirm the size and if you know the length, I’d appreciate it. I’m ordering bulk length but a rough idea would help. Thanks in advance

    272 Sailfish

Thanks for both responses. I hope it’s just the filters. They are carbed, original lines and have the electric primer pump, not bulbs. The gas I filled up with did have ethanol so that may be contributing to the problem

Seas were calm 1’-2’, glass at times. Both motors did the same but the starboard dropped more than port. The boat was full of gas (200g), rods, ice, 1 person on the run out and burned 150g including run back in.

I have a ‘96 272 sailfish with twin Yamaha s200 txru ( same yr). While running offshore yesterday, rpm’s would drop then come back up. 3900 down to +/- 3400 then back to 3900. Ran 75 miles and did this pretty much the entire trip. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

‘96 272 Sailfish macerator pump location

Decided to pull the pump out today and it was relatively easy, other than getting the discharge hose off the elbow fitting. It’s a ‘96 so after 24 years being clamped and not mush room to get a good grip, had to cut the hose off the fitting. The pump looked cruddy and the shaft was seized. I let...

‘96 272 Sailfish macerator pump location

Thanks. Looks like I would still need to remove it from the tank to get to that rubber boot, which I’d like to avoid if possible. So far, it’s pointing to investing in a hazmat suit!

‘96 272 Sailfish macerator pump location

Thank you. Do you know if there is anything to try to get the pump going again, short of pulling it from the tank? The fuse is good and there is power to the control panel and tank wire connections.

    1996 272 Sailfish Questions

Thanks for all the replies. It has the walk through transom/ integrated platform. It sounds like the 3.3L 225s provide the performance/range to get me to the grounds n back, safely

Thanks, was planning on 4 strokes. Would like to go up in hp to 225’s or 250’s, if the boat/transom can handle them.

    272 Sailfish

I recently purchased a ‘96 272 sailfish. Do the individual rocker switches have fuses? What are the rubber buttons above each switch, are they reset or is there a fuse inside? My horn and bilges aren’t coming on when switches are turned on but other switches are functioning. Thanks in advance...
