    232 Gulfstream trailering

I think the 258 would be my perfect boat. But I don't see a lot of them come up in Canada. Hadn't thought of the 265. I will look into it a bit. Thx!

    232 Gulfstream trailering

Thank you very much for your info. My F150 is 9200lb, if you saw from above I am in the same boat as mostly around town trailer work. The more I look at a 232 the more I think it or the 258 would be the two boats I want. Whichever comes available first.

Woohoo! Our new to us 2006 Sailfish passed survey.

You get to sea trial prior to purchase?

Finally got to properly test the seafarer

Yeah superior is a different beast for sure. I'm definitely leaning towards 258 or 232 but I am really pleased to hear about your 228 experience.

    232 Gulfstream trailering

What is your total weight of boat/motor/trailer? What is the towing capacity of your tundra? I've been really thinking a lot more about the 232 and it seems like a pretty fantastic boat for Lake Superior. My wife and I were chatting about the need to trailering the other night and really came...

Finally got to properly test the seafarer

Great report on the conditions that the 228 took on! Looking at a 228/258/232 and I worry about the 228 being on the smaller side in Lake Superior.... you put the 228 through a pretty impressive test and you sound very pleased!

Magicalbill Thank you very much for the detailed response. You've basically outlined many of the things I have been pondering. I think it is possible with my current truck. I do hope to replace it in the next 3-4 years (with another F150 likely). I don't have any great needs for long distance...

    232 Gulfstream trailering

Sorry to bring up an OLD thread. I am looking into a new to me Grady for next year. I really would like to consider the 232 on my shortlist which currently has a 228 as the 232 has SO many features that I would like. The weight is the only thing I am wondering about. I live in Northern Ontario...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

I love the Grady look and quality. I am definitely leaning towards the cuddy and I think the 228 or a 258 if I can find one. Out of curiosity what other bowrider options would you consider that also does offshore (great lakes fishing) well? Thanks BB

Had you been on a 228? What are your thoughts of the 226 vs 228?

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

You raise a good point. I would prefer the walk around because I want to be able to fish from May till October. The added protection of the hardtop and cuddy is huge. My wife loves the bowrider component of our current boat which gets its most use from June to beginning of a Sept. If she was to...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

B Beautiful boat! I do really like the looks of the 228! I really get the sense from many people on this forum that the 228 rides a lot bigger than it is. I'm going to go to our January Boat show in Toronto to take a look at a few models in person. I will try to spend some time on one next...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

That is exact That is exactly where I have seen it. Does Grady make these? Is it aftermarket? It would be something I would really want for the 228. Thanks

For the 228 are there any backrest options for the jumpseats behind the two main seats? I thought I saw a couple of used boats with them as I have scanned through different models/options.

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

Thank you very much for the reply. You definitely see a lot of different waters in your boat so I think you have more than a good understanding of what the 228 can do and handle. It is a boat that is on my list as a serious contender! I have seen a lot more 226's going for sale around Ontario...

Grady White - Help with Model Choices

Good day Grady owners. I have gotten to the point where purchase of a used Grady next year will be an option. I have always been looking at Grady's and had a rough idea about what models I would be interested in. Now that I am near the point of formally putting down money I want to continue to...

Any Grady owners fishing the Great Lakes

Nice to see a Great Lakes Grady group! I'm hoping to join the team next year. I'm going to run out the summer this year and start actively looking next year for a Lake Superior salmon boat. I'm leaning towards a Journey 258 but would consider 232, 228 as well as a Tournament/Freedom 225. My wife...

    Seafarer 226 Length on trailer

The 258 is probably cutting it way to close to max for my truck. I'm not looking to buy a F250 at any point and likely will get anothe 1/2 ton. Realistically the 226/228 likely is my max boat for what I can tow. Still will be a amazing Great Lakes / Lake Superior Boat I think!

    Seafarer 226 Length on trailer

True. For some reason I feel like real world info is more trustworthy! I will pull up some specs on the 258 when I get home tonight. Thanks again!

    Seafarer 226 Length on trailer

Thanks - that is great info actually. That is around 1400lb less which is significant. I'm maxed out at 9100lbs on my 1/2 ton. I don't want to be pulling 9000 that is for sure. 6600 or so is extremely reasonable. Maybe a 258 is still possible ? I would love to hear from a 258 owner regarding...
