Replaced fuel sender in aux tank on 2003 330 Express

If you can easily disconnect the senders entirely, you might try using a multimeter to measure the resistance at full or any other known level. When full it should read 30 ohms and empty should be 240 ohms. 1/2 tank should be about 135. Note you can only measure this when the sender is...

Replaced fuel sender in aux tank on 2003 330 Express

Interesting followup: after replacing the sender, my gauge was reading 85% when the tank was full. After first thinking this was a calibration issue, I discovered that the sender was showing the correct resistance value (about 30 ohms at full) and that my gauge (Yamaha Command Link Plus, version...

    Sending unit glue / compound

This is the gasket I just used for my replacement sender (assuming you have the standard 5-screw mount): https://kus-usa.com/product/gasket-mounting-kits/ I got the "Viton" gasket on the assumption that more expensive was better ;)

    Skene Bow Chocks

I added them to my 330 Express because otherwise the rode ran right over a pretty sharp edge. Later model years added them from the factory. I also considered adding a cleat on the pulpit which might have been a better option. Here's what I used: https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?id=4500213...

NEED HELP - SWITCH PANEL WIRING

Let us know which boat and year, and also some pictures of the situation would help. Did you disconnect the wires to more than just that one switch? This guide may be helpful. https://newwiremarine.com/how-to/wiring-a-boat/

    Best way to repair this?

I had an 1/4" acrylic panel laser cut with the right openings for my electronics... Here's a thread on it: https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/custom-dash-panel-for-330-express.23367/ Also had them make a panel for the key switches and another to cover the exact spot you are showing (mounted the...

2nd helm seat for 330 Express

Port side has a small built-in cooler under the factory seating, so putting the chair there would have made that inaccessible. Also it makes the starboard side even more nap friendly cause you can stick your feet under the new chair.

    Windshield Wiper removal

This is the wiper arm that fit my 330 express perfectly: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NI1EPO/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Garmin Reactor 40 on 330

My pump is where your furuno is (on that ledge near the genset), and my CCU is under the live well accessible by removing the tackle storage. I get an 84 quality for the compass calibration in that location.

Replaced fuel sender in aux tank on 2003 330 Express

Yeah - I had to read that at least 5 times to make sure I wasn't missing something: This is from the PDF you can download at https://kus-usa.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/KUS-USA_SendingUnit_Installation_v4.pdf PROPER WIRING INSTALLATION: - Connect ground (pink) wire from the KUS sending unit...

Replaced fuel sender in aux tank on 2003 330 Express

My fuel sender went bad on my 2003 330 Express AUX tank. I was originally going to have my marina replace it as I felt that I didn't want to mess with the fuel tank, but it turns out it was a very easy DIY job. A quick email to Grady let me know that my AUX sender is 26.5" while the main tank is...

    Windshield Wiper removal

Yep - remove the screw and the arm should pop off the splined motor armature. Penetrating oil should hopefully do the trick if it's stuck, but if that doesn't work you might ask your marina how they deal. I've never had to remove a stuck one, but I assume starting with heat & hammer and then...

    Starboard engine failure

You might want to chat with a Yamaha mechanic and find out if the engine would have thrown and recorded a code when it died like that. Assume you have original F350's? I'd probably want to run the engine diagnostics and see if it can tell you about any known problems.

    My 330 Express Experience

I've noticed that the boat is quite sensitive to engine trim in terms of maximizing MPG -- you might try trimming out a bit. What props are you running and what is your top speed & RPM?

    Freshwater wash down on 330

That's a good idea Dennis... Could just fill the live well with fresh water at the dock and use a regular AC powered sump pump (or DC if you don't have a generator) -- they have garden hose fittings already. Get a 25ft ZeroG hose and store the whole thing in the live well.

    Seacock stuck

I think a fair few folks leave them open all the time -- no criticism intended, but I'm not sure they realize how many boats sink at the slip because of a failed hose clamp or leaky hose. With the seacock open the only thing keeping your boat floating is a hose and some clamps in your bilge that...

330 Cabin door vents... How were these supposed to work?

I have an '03 and I'm pretty sure there's no plastic in mine because I often get a bit of spray into the cabin when I'm washing. I'll look at it more carefully, but wondering if there was some protective film that was never removed or something like that? Or someone put some plastic in to keep...

2nd helm seat for 330 Express

Installed this on my 330 — very easy DIY on the starboard side because you have access from underneath from the live well. I put in an inexpensive Garelick 9” pedestal that only swivels. The seat is an mid-tier Taco Marine that’s no longer made — I have arms for it too butI bought them...

    Squeaky steering wheel

Had the same problem on my 330 -- in a fit of pique I WD40'd the heck out the area under the plastic covers to the tilt steering. Took quite a few tries, but I finally got the right spot and the squeak went away. Still not sure what was rubbing.
