    Trim tabs

Can you confirm the trim tab reservoir if full? If it is full you possibly have a leak somewhere in the line.

    Fuel economy query....282 Sailfish...

I posted the below paragraph on a similar thread recently: "I recently switched my m-19's to a pair of the same props I had as spares, but had them refinished to compare numbers. I also did this while my boat was being worked on the other week, so clean painted bottom. I ran the new props in...

    Paddle Wheel...

Like others said. Leave it there and paint the sides with bottom paint and face with transducer paint. Either way if you need a back up or secondary transducer in there future it's in place already. I actually just removed my furuno fcv-627 and b744 from my sailfish. It was a really great combo...

    Paddle Wheel...

If I'm not mistaken that's a b744 transducer and the paddle wheel is replaceable. But honestly unless ur depending on it for water speed/not actual speed, there's no reason to even bother.

    Trim tabs

Exactly what Dennis is saying. Check all the wires to and from the pump. Also check the wires from the switch. I'm not saying pumps don't fail but it's very uncommon.

    How to place anodes

If you have a twin set-up then they should be pointed straight back. The propellers rotation direction should counteract each other. In fact for my twin Yamahas they don't even sell the anodes with the fins anymore.

    Trim tabs

Is the unit getting power? Can you hear the pump running when you push the switch? Start with simplest issues to eliminate and then go deeper into it. There could be a hundred reasons why it's not working. You need to start testing from the power source and move your way towards the pump.

    2001 282 w/f250's...prop size

I recently switched my m-19's to a pair of the same props I had as spares, but had them refinished to compare numbers. I also did this while my boat was being worked on the other week, so clean painted bottom. I ran the new props in somewhat choppy weather, wind at 5-10kts, against the tide, 2...

    Price My Boat - 2004 Marlin 300

The only x factor in that boat is the engines. For 40k I would buy with the intention of immediately repowering. But if you have the engines fully checked out, scoped and powerheads inspected, all must be documented, then with the options you have going for you I would think the 60k range would...

water in bilge of 1999 sailfish..scupper problem?

Which bilge front or rear? From bilge will unfortunately always have some water because it's the lowest point.

Water trickling out of exhaust just below Cowling

Sorry to hear this. I honestly believe after hearing so many stories regardless of the new exhaust kits done or not. Some of the motors we're just doomed from the beginning, why I have no idea but most got lucky, while some even after the exhaust kits we're done, we're just meant to fail. It's...

Deck drain inserts - where to find replacement part?

Tinny, I just googled like crazy for that part number from moehn and only the home Depot in Cali sells it but won't ship and a company in Canada that doesn't ship to US! Hopefully j can't find something similar here locally. Great idea

    Sailfish Transom/Fiberglass Question

Yeah the motor issue is something you don't want to deal with unless the seller is giving a serious reduction in price. If the motors we're maintained properly then the other somewhat minor items wouldn't scare me aeay. It would be something to negotiate and come home with.

    Need insurance recommendations

The only "catch" I noticed with marine underwriters when I had them was a higher deductible. But everything else was the same or better than other insurance companies.

    Sailfish Transom/Fiberglass Question

I have the same exact thing on my sailfish. When I purchased 2 years ago, surveyor said it's most likely covering up spider cracks, but cannot find any evidence of transom damage. He stated he sees this all the time on the sailfish and rarely has it proven to be transom failer. Fast forward 2...
