Omc spark plug wire opinion needed

I have a silly question, but wanted opinions. I have a 1994 evinrude ocean pro V6 that has 1 spark plug wire that is definitely bad. One other wire is marginal, but probably should be replaced. The rest look to be in ok shape. All are the original wires, circa 1994. I found a replacement set of...

    whats it worth???

I guess it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. I searched last night and found several east coast boats of that same vintage and setup for 26 to 30k. I would have to agree with all of the posts here. Why throw good money at a bad situation? That bow damage is severe. More likely...

    Finally able to Grady shop!

Lt mike, what treasures did you find when you picked her up? Do you plan on splashing her this winter, or waiting until the spring? Just curious about the status of her, post delivery. Post an update, if you feel up to it. I am trying to work out the projects for my 192 Tournament for this...

How to bring back my wife?

Awesome. Step 1) Rogaine; Step 2) Viagra; and Step 3) purchase the largest, badest Grady possible. Follow this advice and then perhaps the women in the photo will let you score - not likely, but perhaps. By the way, why get the wife back? Live like a rock star, Comrade! :nicethread

    New to board

I would not worry about going over the manufacturer horsepower rating based on the idea that you would be liable for anything that went wrong with the boat due to the overpower. Bottom line, with a 1993 hull, Grady White is out of the picture in terms of correcting any defects with that hull...

    Tournament 190 replacement bimini top

Go to greatlakesboattop.com. They do the original Grady bimini tops from the original spec sheets. The prices are not online. They will email you a quote, but you need to give them your model number, year of boat, etc... Hope this helps.

    Sold the boat :(

Christo15. I have the perfect solution. Get a late 80s Grady tournament 192 for a couple grand as a project/puts around boat. Just something to trailer and mess with from time to time. You can find them with older loopers that burn oil and fuel like crazy, but that run forever. Problem solved...

Do I need the Speed Gauge?

No, you do not need a speed gauge. Even if you couldn't hook it up to gps, I would say you can do without. I think the tach is much more useful. I never really pay much attention to my speed gauge. Plus, mine has a pitot tube that registers the gauge through pressure and I have always suspected...

    Boat Polishing

3m products for compound and waxing of the gelcoat. Good stuff. The stainless I use whatever is around and cheap. Collinites is great. Barkeepers friend too.

Anyone with a new boat rusting?

Doc stressor is spot on here. Stainless is not rust proof. You must maintain it and keep in dry (if possible) when stored. Keeping it dry and polished will mean less maintenance. Also, Doc is right on the money in terms of storing the ladder. I always clean mine, then dry it and store in...

    Leszekgorski Question.

What is wrong with encountering a shark while snorkeling or diving? I grew up in Miami, Fl, and spent the first 25 years of my life snorkeling and diving in the Keys, Bahamas, and all in-between. If the sharks continue to show an interest, then you gracefully exit the water. No stress...

Power wash or not to power wash

Pull it first, then decide. Right? I would think that a light wash with a pressure washer might be easier though. Speaking of work, I need to compound and wax my hull before I put her up for the winter. So many projects and maintenance chores! :bang

What does everyone do for a living?

River Rat, yeah, you general contractors suck. :D just kigging! We have a 1932 house, so I rely on you guys a lot. Knock on wood, I have really had good experiences with my contractors. Except for the money it costs to keep up an old house. Kind of like a Grady. Money pits.

    1982 Tarpon 19

Yes, you are crazy. And yes, there is a cure - death. :D sounds like you really enjoy a good project and challenge. I think the evinrude would be adequate for the Tarpon. I would be concerned about the access plate being gone above the fule tank. In other words, has rain been getting in there...

    1985 204 fisherman???

I agree with Curmudgeon on this one. You are looking at a lot of work, time, and money. To give you an idea of price, I got a mid 90s tournament 192 in fantastic shape for 8k with trailer etc. Absolutely no soft spots, solid and dry transom, 94 evinrude looper than runs like a top - just feed...

    plastic wood trim looks lousy

I agree with using the Penetrol. That is what Grady White suggests, and it does restore the color. The problem I had was the fake wood grain was shot in areas of my trim, and that you cannot restore. I hoped I could simply flip the pieces over, but no luck. The back sides do not have the wood...

Like ire mon, I too am a blood sucking lawyer. But I much prefer drinking beer and being on my 192 tournament with the kids and wife.

    New Yamaha 200 vs E-tech 200

Let's not get Dan/Southeast started. All these facts are killing me. I may purchase a Yamaha again someday. Only problem is my 94 Evinrude Ocean Pro won't die. :o

    Can My '97 G/W 192 be Waterlogged??

Do you have the motor trimmed all the way down at wide open throttle? If so, then I can see where you are only getting 4900 rpm. My guess is that your Grady hull is fine. Open that evinrude up full throttle, then tilt the motor up until she is flying and your 192 hull is floating on air. I...
