    Source for Apollo Valves?

I was in the process of replacing the rusted out ball joints on the rods that connect to the seacock handles for the livewell and raw water washdown (I still can't believe they made the ball joints out of anything other than stainless steel) and it now appears that one of the stems is stripped...

    208 vs 228 vs 232 vs 258

I have a 228 and a buddy has the 232. The 232 is a much bigger boat (or atleast seems to be). His 232 is powered by a single 250 and is underpowered. Twin 200's would be perfect. That said, the 228 has been the perfect boat for me, my wife and two young kids. The enclosed transom just feels...

Researching next boat- thinking of a grady 228g. advice?

Sounds like you are right on target for what you want. My kids ski, tube and wakeboard behind ours just fine. Hole shot is cetainly not like a Mastercraft, but it is fine. I've gone scuba diving several times on it as well. The swim platform and ladder make it pretty easy. Your weight will be...

Best single engine GW Walkaround Cabin

I think your best bet for a single would be a 228. Essentially the same hull as the 226, but with a full transom and a motor bracket which I've been told helps it ride better in bigger seas. I know my family and I love ours. The cabin is on the small side, so don't plan on having two large...

    Seafarer 228 Weight

My 228 and aluminum trialer weighed around 6500lba at the wiegh station. The trailer weighs around 1000lbs. Your 5000lbs capacity trailer (even assuming that refers to what is on it and not including the trailer) might be a bit light.

    Banging noise in Bulkhead

I thought I had a problem on my boat when I heard loud banging in the same type of seas. Turned out it was all the beer in the port fish box that I use as a cooler when not fishing. The ice had turned to a slush or slurry allowing the cans to strike the bottom of the box when we came off a...

    Wiper blades

Ryder Fleet is definitely the way to go. Cheap and great service.

    Barkeeper's friend

It is not terribly abrasive. I have only used the powder version, but I would think they'd both work well. The powder might be a bit more abrasive. I'm pretty sure you could use it on any of the areas you mentioned without having to buff it afterwards. It's great for removing rust stains.

    livewell pump

After 3 years of use it is probably time to replace it. I had the same thing happen to mine just a bit earlier. Livewell pumps are put through hell so they wear out quick. Luckily they don't cost much and most just need new cartridge pumps.

    Wiper Arm

Happy, you just need to measure the length of the blade and choose the proper ANCO replacement blade based on that. Ryder has been the cheapest and best service I have found.

    Wiper Arm

Here's a good place to get replacements. Did mine last year. Cost all of $5.09 a piece. I don't recall if they come with the screw or not though. You might have to take the one you have left to Home Depot and see if they can match it. http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cgi-b ... detail.jsp...

Help Needed F150 or F250 for Towing Adventure 208

FWIW, my 228 weighs about 6500 fairly well loaded with the trailer. I think your estimates might be a bit high. My F-150 with the 4.6 engine has been fine for three years. But I live in Florida and we don't have many hills.

226 Seafarer Trailer - What type do I need?

My 228, decently loaded, weighs around 6500 pounds including the trailer. My trailer is rated for 7000lbs (including itself). Your dealer is definitely on the right track!

Docking Question ? Anybody use a wood Plank to get on Boat?

How do you get off the boat right now? There aren't any docks on the sides? If you do the gangplank deal I would get an aluminum ladder the right length and fasten marine plywood (or just outdoor plywood) on top of it with squared off u-bolts. Be sure to add non-slip stickers to it!

Truck for pulling a 228 Seafarrer

I tow my 2004 228 with a 2003 F-150 Super Crew with the smaller 4.6 engine. No problems at all in three years. Mostly shorter tows but an occasional tow to Key West (400 miles each way).

    09 228 seafarer

Or there is an air leak between the seacock and the pump. Mine always takes awhile to reprime, but a couple of minutes is too long. One thing I have noticed about mine is that even once it gets going the pressure can vary significantly. Its not like a garden hose that has constant pressure. I...

tandem torsion bar trailer not for salt water?

Your guy clearly has no idea what he is talking about. Rubber components do better exposed to salt water than raw steel components do.
