    Replacement for Oil Reservoir Brackets

The original if you can find them are expensive and made of steel. Eventually it will rust. There was a poster on this forum years back that sold a stainless version. I don't know it that is still available. Some folks removed the bracket and bolted in a battery tray with a strap to hold the oil...

    Heavy List underway

It may not be a list per se but rather a steering to starboard imbalance. Forst question: Does the lower unit sacrificial anode have a fin? It may not if the motor was part of a twin setup. It needs a anode with a tab. If it has a tab, does the tab have a curve in it? If so the tab may need to...

2003 282 Sailfish - New Fuel Vent Cover Suggestions

You need to know how the vent hose was connected to the fitting as well as the size of the hose. A clam shell is not enough. There are flush tank vents available that have to be installed like a thru hull ( which it really is) using a nut on the inside. I don't know what the anchor locker vent...

    2017 257 Fisherman Battery Replacement

What is there now? Do you have 2 batteries total? What size (not capacity) are they? I think the minimum CCA for f200s is 660 or bigger. 'Starting' battery type would be appropriate if two batteries total

    Trim Tabs Unresponsive

You may have a slow leak or a not so slow one. You will need to check for leakage after adding the fluid. After adding the fluid, you have to move the tabs all the way up and down a couple of times to get the air out.

30 year old Grady and Yamaha...what should I replace before it breaks

If indeed there are no issues with the control cables and they work fine, then why change them? I am no sure that everything works perfectly. If you own and operate boat for many years, it is more likely that you just don't notice that systems aren't performing as well as when new. I agree with...

30 year old Grady and Yamaha...what should I replace before it breaks

You saying that your motors are 30 years old and so is your steering box, cable and throttle/shift cables?? This might fall into the "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" category:)

    What happened here?

hmmm. When you turn on the ignition key but not turn to crank the motor, does the alarm sound?

    What happened here?

Why would a stall generate an alarm?

Best Product for Cleaning Bolsters and Seat Cushions?

Many general cleaners may contain chlorine bleach and as mentioned, that can degrade the threads. Use bleach based products as a last resort and regardless of what you use, rinse everything thoroughly with fresh water. Also make sure you follow the directions. Some cleaners are spray on, then...

Bait tank pump constantly vapor locking when coming off of a plane if traveling over 25 knots. I have a 33 Express.

Based on the last description of the plumbing and the suggestion that the problem may be due to 'wash', i think the problem is not an air lock exactly but rather a sucking air problem due to the more forward placement of the water pickup. I wouldn't be surprise if when at speed that area is out...

Best Product for Cleaning Bolsters and Seat Cushions?

Be careful. Some recommended cleaners can damage the vinyl. The Magic Eraser is one that comes to mind. If your vinyl is in pretty decent condition, avoid bleach based cleaners if possible. Start off with a mild soap and water solution and a soft cloth or soft bristled brush. Go more...

Seat Slide Hardware Adaptor for 2004 Tournament 185?

That's the same seat and slider that was on my sold 2001 208. I was not able to find an exact replacement for the slider and only found one potential seat that would fit the space. I did machine a new set of plastic slides but to be honest, that was a lot of work and the seat still wiggled. The...

Bait tank pump constantly vapor locking when coming off of a plane if traveling over 25 knots. I have a 33 Express.

:p Can't help it. I am an electrical engineer! Regardless, my previous Mako stated in the user manual that if you left the livewell fill valve open, under speed the tank can overflow All that aside, I don't see how there would be an air lock unless the pump was pulling air. Either a leak in...

Can you post the spacing measurements of the seat. I am currious to see to see if I can find a slider mechanism with the wider spacing.

    Repower question

Your decision may be determined by what motors are available. 350s are relatively new I am not one who would opt for the latest and greatest without a few model years of customer experience
