Nothing other than noting the water marks.

Ok so from the pictures below you can clearly see the floor drains do drain into that box, then in two of the corners of the box (one fore and one aft) you can see that they are not sealed. So while you could use it for storage, it is not dry storage. What ever I put there will be in a sealed...

Looking at it, it appears a forward corner and an aft corner of the box is tapered and not sealed. That must be how it drains to the bilge below it. I'll put some water in there today and see.

Actually they drain directly into the box, and not the bilge. I'll get more pictures and may video to show.

    Is this normal 03 282

Correct, I have all the panels of down there as I've been working on the boat. It just seemed odd to be that the floor drains would drain into there instead of the actual bilge.

I'm not having an issue with water going in, my point is the two floor drains, if water got on the floor, would drain in to that compartment, instead of directly into the bilge..

Thanks I guess it was meant that way, but without the ac options, if they would have those rains go into the bilge, it would make a great storage spot. Here are some pictures for those that don't understand what I was asking about.

My answer, I don't know. The actual mid berth bilge is under this area so what looks like a good storage area isn't. The forward bilge is less than a foot from these drains...

So in the mid berth there is a removeable panel in the floor. There is a nice space there for storage, but it has signs of water getting in there. I was taking a closer look today and I notice the two floor drains in the cabin drain directly into this area, no hoses, nothing. Is this normal, and...

    Placards Required?

Thanks, already removed the handle to the seacock. Yeah during researching I did see some that said the Oil discharge placard was for boats with enclosed engines. I do not have a generator.

    Placards Required?

Thank you. Are there particular locations where they have to be placed?

    Placards Required?

The surveyor listed that my 282 required placards (oil Discharge Prohibited, Garbage Discharge, and Waste Discharge). Do you all have these on your boats? Is this something the coast guard looks for?

Brings up a good question, how do you keep your tools from rusting? I plan to use an airtight container, that should work.
