When you are done in there, get some Nautical One Extreme Mildew Remover and liberally spray everything (assuming plug is out and you have it pitched to drain out) and wash it down well with a hose. The area will clean up nice and all mildew will be gone.

Smaller boats I get it. All are tradeoffs. In a big boat, I think you need to have a design that isn't overly cramped in the helm. I'm sure it doesn't matter much in a 35' boat if center or starboard helm. The 33 is just too darn tight just like the 282 was IMHO.

Nice rig. Take the cabin cushions off and wrap the cushions in rolled dacron. That will tighten then up so they fit like a drum skin!

I'd replace them just because they scream 1970. If the guy knows what he is doing, it really shouldn't be an issue. Far better than wood and the associated maintenance.

I'd take measurements and make some brown bag or cardboard templates. If you are not comfortable, have a marine upholstery shop stop by and do it fo you.

Check A&J Canvas in Vanceboro NC. They made if for GW. Send them your original, they copy it and send a new one out. Same material as OEM. Your price seems reasonable to me if for the same grade material.

I'd template them with brown paper and cardboard. Once you get the first template done, transfer to a sturdy material and either have fabricated or do it yourself with starboard.
