.... gonna short the red to the black on the black terminal board as directed. I'm guessing access is through the Refridge cabinet so that has to come out to get the the box ?

AC unit fan runs compressor does not

AC unit on the Marlin was replaced in 2019 . Upon running unit for the first time this season I noticed the compressor wasn't kicking on. So I checked the High Pressure switch on top of the unit and it was tripped open. I reset the switch and still no compressor, just the fan running. Water pump...

    Marlin owners or 30 / 33 express .... which tank ?

Thank you all for the input. Running concurrently seems to make sense to me to keep the gas fresh. Last thing I need is to have to put one more thing on the remember list

    Marlin owners or 30 / 33 express .... which tank ?

Curious as to which gas tank you pull from first when running an offshore trip ? Midship or the one closest to the stern, Why/thoughts ? Thanks, Pat

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

Hey Legend, I haven't owned the boat long enough to get a feel for the effects. We purchased her late last October and did some fall/winter fishing before haul out in early January. Upon pressure washing we discovered we had the "Earl Schiebs" paint job. It just flaked off exposing gelcoat with...

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

Here are a few pictures. Make sure you follow the directions to the T. And if you have any questions they have excellent tech support. FYI we sanded with 80 grit after solvent wipedown to remove any shiney areas on the gel. Soda blasting is fairly mild but it removed the old bottom paint to the...

Re-do needed. Best method to remove bottom paint?

Captain Bill, Call Gale Force Blasting ( Chris Stafford ) He is mobile and does plenty of work in Delaware, Maryland, Pa. and New Jersey etc. I had Chris Soda Blast my 30' Marlin in March and he did an outstanding job. My boat is in Ocean City MD. Chris is very thorough and when he is done...

    Insurance question

We write for Travelers, Progressive and Nationwide. And yes many companies have a specified lay up period and a specified geographical area. If you want to venture beyond those set parameters you should read your policy and notify your agent or carrier of such so an addendum could be...

Are twin 225's adequate on 30' Marlin

For comparison sakes I have 250’s on our Marlin. It is adequate in that between 4300 and 4500 rpm with full load it runs between 24-26+ knots. which most folks are happy to do while running in the ocean. Performance specs with 300 Yamaha’s state lower rpms achieving a little more speed and a...

New (to me) Grady - 2004 Marlin

Good luck with your purchase … I too owned a 26 Reg way back in the early 90's. Really enjoyed it then moved on up from there through a couple twin diesel boats and back down to a 30' Marlin we picked up this past October. Liking it so far as we are adding some new goodies and bringing the gel...

    New enclosure with Costa track

Had new enclosure installed and went with a Costa Track instead of the snaps on the windshield. I like the clean look. The cord that fits into the track has a zipper with a Velcro flap on exterior. Makes for easy removal. Attached some photos from install/launch this past Saturday.

Transom Rebuild - The Saga Begins

That’s a good sign (no bulging). Did you put a meter on it ? You gonna glass it or just replace the aluminum?

    Cruising RPM's?

Agreed .... 1,000 hrs and well beyond. Friend of mine has a pair of the 250’s on a 31 Cape Horn with over 3500hrs and running strong

    Cruising RPM's?

I don’t like running over 4500 rpm’s. I have a pair of 250 Yamaha’s 2007 vintage. A previous boat I had the same and seldom ran over 4200 because the speed was adequate at around 28-30 kts between 4000 and 4200 R’s. I put over 2,000 trouble free hours on those and according to the new owner...

2001 Sailfish Transom - How to Access for Rebuild?

Nice job !! so you eliminated the trim tab pockets and went with ZipWakes. Were the pockets a PIA to to reconstruct and the Zips a good alternative or just personal preference ?
