My 208 has a black rubber roller on a galvanized metal bracket attached to the bow pulpit. So do all the other 208s in the photo gallery here that have the pulpits. The pulpit is a factory option. I have no idea where to get a replacement, however. I would call GW.

There is a very interesting article on the Yamaha F225 corrosion problems in this month's Boat US magazine. Seems like they have never issued a TSB but have a repair kit available.

Also, do you have trim tabs? If you don't trim the boat after you get on plane, you will be pushing water and using a lot of fuel and your speed will be down. The 150 is not a rocket but you should be doing better than you are.

My Yamaha was recently doing the same thing. I replaced the impeller and thermostats and all is well. I would probably say your impeller needs to be replaced then if it still does it, do the thermostats.
