    I meant no working brakes on the trailer the dry weigh on the boat is 3000 so I think I should be fine I also have a low gear on the truck if I need more power out of it, it has a 4.7 liter v8 in it so should work

    I personally think I would go Yamaha I have a 1990 seafarer 228g with a 2003 Yamaha 4 stroke 200 they seem to be worth the bigger price I’ve rode on boats that have has outboards from Johnson’s to yamahas and yamahas are my fave in my opinion

    We run are boat in the Atlantic and have up to 8ft waves In are inlet on a normal day and it takes it fine with no problems

    I was wondering if a 2000 Toyota landcruiser with a 6500 towing capacity could tow a 1990 Grady white seafarer 228g on an aluminum trailer with no breakers on the trailer I only need to go a few miles and the boat has a 80 gallon tank

    A couple questions about a 228 Seafarer...

    I have a v1 hull 228g with a 2003 Yamaha 4 stroke on it, but a 200 will get you around with some power leftover. I've ran with 6 people on it and 80 gallons in the tank and it got up, fine no problems with a 200hp.

    I have a 1990 v1 hull seafarer 228g mine came with 2 tanks, but was swapped out at one point for a single 80 gallon tank, I think it is like 100 gallons.
