My stbd side is rigged in paralell also. I have a Group 27 cranking/deep cycle battery on both sides and a Group 24 deep cycle on the stbd side house circuit. Seems to work well for me as I haven't had any starting issues.

The other issue with going to 4S is the engine spacing is different because they're wider, so you'll have to plug and re-drill the transom. Jekyl has a post about what he did you should be able to find and I'm sure he'll answer questions too

Talk to Jekyl. He put F225's on his 2000 (Ithink) 265. I don't think he raised his scuppers. You could always buy a set of used F225's or F250's then the cash outlay is minimized.

You're pushing your luck, and you may have water in your tank that won't show up until you start running the boat. Startron alone won't stabilize your fuel and keep water out of it. Not changing your separators is definately neglect - you're right about that.

Thanks guys! The boats is wrapped and I probably won't get in it until next month so I figured I'd just get direct replacements if I could. They are the original speakers from '02 and I'll just put another set of them in there. Bill

The original Kenwood speakers in the cockpit are shot on my boat. I'd like a screw-in replacement and am not worried about mega bass or anything like that. Will the current 6.5" Kenwoods fit in the same holes? Anyone done this? Bill

150 HP would be marginal, 175 HP better 200 HP good.... Underpowering will affect resale value as well

A buddy of mine has 1300 hrs on his 2003 F225. Still runs like new. If I was going to repower I'd go with the new 4.2L engines in 225 or 250. A pair of 225's seems ideal to me on this hull. I think if you buy the older 250's you'll regret it in a few years.

I don't know how anyone has 2 project boats going at the same time. It's a matter of time and money. I'd sell one of them and use the money to finish the other. That might relieve some of the stress

The Rev 4s might run better that the Mirages but I doubt they'll be more efficient. Ken will tell you that as well. The Rev 4s should give you a better holeshot, lower planing speed and maneuverabilty when docking.

I bought my Mirage 18's from Ken and had him send me a set of the Rev 4 17's. Unfortunately the ones he sent were both RH and I never got to run them. The Mirage 18's are close to perfect for a 3 blade prop if you have F225's. The first year I ran them economy was up but I wasn't getting full...

It's not the butt connectors or switch. The light will go on and off if I tap the pole with my finger. The bulb is tight in the socket and there's no corrosion there.
