    Long-Term Winter Storage

I have used Stor-N-Start since 2002 on a Mercury Saltwater Optimax and my Yamaha 250 TXR. I use it religiously at every fill up and for winter storage. I have never had a fuel problem and would recommend it to you. One oz. treats five gallons of fuel so it pretty economical. I buy it from my...

    Tournament 307

Just my two cents, but having owned CC boats for 21 years and being 55 YO now I love my DC. There is no comparison to a CC when it comes to getting out of the weather and out of the cold. I look forward to putting a propane heater in a milk crate and being able to get warm late this fall and...

Emblem on Port side of hull

Nevsat, Have you tried to clean it out? I was going to go after it with a shop vac or try to rinse it out with a hose. Any advice?

Emblem on Port side of hull

Had the weirdest thing happen last weekend. After coming in from a day on the lake, the port side oval emblem which says GW Tournament 225 and is part of the stripe running down the side was missing. It looked as if the glue let go and it just fell off. No marks or damage or anything. Has...

    Capt. Chris.

Bill, Sorry, I just saw your post today. I was down there last weekend for the Poker Run and it was quite a weekend! The poker run was over almost before it began. A 36' Skater w/ twin Sterling 1150 HP engines doing 130 MPH barrel rolled about three miles into the run. The driver was killed and...

    tournament 275 350yamaha

Ussteel, My '08 225 Tournament has a height adjustment on the helm seat. Loosen the knob and pull out the little black ball on the seat shaft and pull the seat bottom up or lower it down. I'm assuming your helm seat is the same as mine. I can't imagine a 225 would do that and a 275 wouldn't!

    grady drive questions

Timmons, I have a 2008 225 and love the boat. For the last 21 years I had BW center consoles. The bracket does take a little getting used to but the advantages of having the engine off the transom to me are great! I love having the live well and fishbox in the transom. It also makes the fold...

Grady-Whites on the Ohio in Louisville, KY

Re: Louville Thanks for your kind words. As a native Louisvillian I agree with you. The cost of living here is really reasonable and we consider ourselves more "Southerners" than Midwesterners. Sorry the river was such a mess in June when you were here. It has really cleaned itself up and is...

the right trailer for my new 232 gulfstream

Our ramps @ Cumberland are very steep. How much bunk do you have out of the water when you put your boat on the trailer?

Grady-Whites on the Ohio in Louisville, KY

Bill, It had no registration numbers on it at all so I just assumed it was documented. But now that you mention it, it had no home port on the stern which I thought was required for documented boats. I have seen it three times over the past three weeks so maybe it's just here for the summer...

    Seafarer 226 versus 228

If you're going to be taking your test ride @ Beaver Park in Lorain, OH give my best to Pat Grasso, Bill Jeancola, and the owner Bill Schaeffer. I bought my 225 from them and they are great guys! I recommend them whole heartedly!

    Seafarer 226 versus 228

I'll have to try tilting the motor up when in reverse. Thanks for the tip!

    Seafarer 226 versus 228

My batteries are in the compartment directly behind the fold down transom seat. The door is only about 12-15 inches high and they sit down in the compartment in their own trays. You have to tilt the batteries on their sides to get them into the compartment and then turn them 90 degrees to fit...

Grady-Whites on the Ohio in Louisville, KY

So far I have found three Grady-Whites including my '08 Tournament 225 on the Ohio River in Louisville. The other two are an older Seafarer 228 and a beautiful Canyon 336 w/ Twin Yamaha 350s. The Canyon must be new because I couldn't see any VHF antenna on it and aren't the 350s new this year? I...

    Seafarer 226 versus 228

I can't speak to the Seafarer, but having put over 30 hrs now on my Tournament 225 I like the Gill bracket alot. It took a little getting used to when backing and maneuvering but it's a small learning curve. Having a full transom eliminates the possibility of getting water in the bilge via the...

    towing question

Future Owner, I pull my 2008 Tournament 225 with a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab 4X4. It has the 5.3 Liter V-8 w/ factory towing pkg, 3.42 rear end, and automatic transmission. I encourage you to buy the 4X4. I am in Louisville, Ky and tow to south central KY in the foothills of the...

    Yamaha Speed reading not correct

Fishtales, If it's like my F250 TXR there is a speed pick up hole on the leading edge of the lower unit down low. It is easy to pick up some debris etc in there especially if you run over a stick or something else. If you see it is clogged take a very small drill bit and maunually screw it into...

    Power for a Tournament 225

I have a 2008 225 w F250 TXR. I wouldn't want any less motor. It's a solid, heavy boat and with only one motor I'd go for the max. Very few people ever complain about too much HP, but on the other hand I've seen a lot of posts about wishing for the bigger motor.
