2000 Adventure 208 fuel tank test

You can plug things off and put a couple pounds in it safely. But if there was an actual tank issue, it would be leaking - which it is not - and as mentioned above, it's plastic so all of the things you read about an Al tank don't apply. Probably just old lines.

    Talk me into it..

Your wife is onboard with it? End of discussion. If that was me, and she said she was good to move up... you would have seen a lifesize hole in the wall in my shape where I ran thru it on the way to the dealership before she even finished the sentence.........

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Yeah, generally a kicker is not something you're going to need to have your hands on a lot when using it - so somewhat out of the way is probably fine.

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Hmmm... I don't think they have such a thing, either. Looks like there's enough room on the vertical surface. Is there enough room for full swing of the handle? How about on the port or stbd side of the console? Is there room on top of the console?

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

Do you mean a compass, or something else? "Binnacle" is generally a "fashion of mounting" - not an actual thing (or at least, not commonly used for that).

What control and where on 209 Fisherman

Do you have room to change that single binnacle to a dual?

Ah, gotcha. Good luck with the new boat!

Water dripping in at planing speed

Can you better clarify the things you have checked? It's better for us if you are specific as to what you actually did and how you verified it was not the culprit. Note, I edited my original reply as there was a grammatical error... "hose" was wrong... I changed it to "hull".

Care to share the route? Why the change?

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

It sounds like you're installing a captain's chair... MSP is going the other way, installing a B-2-B... so slightly different in how it's mounted (see above). One "could" use a couple Togglers for a B-2-B - but it's overkill.

Usually somewhere in the stern - but just follow the hydraulic lines that come through the transom. They will lead you right to it. Is it noted in your manual?

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

Yes, normal practice for B-2-B seats is to simply screw them into the deck. They don't require the thru-bolting that pedestal seats do because of leverage/small base. I've seen some boats where only two of the fasteners used are thru-bolts and the others are screws... but in my opinion, it's...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

Obviously it's something that is 100% your call - but based on the numbers and how a lift is actually used, I wouldn't sweat it one bit. There doesn't seem to be a reason to think that you're not within specs for the lift. I WOULD factor in a full tank of gas, though - but even with that...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

I didn't see where he said he was using a test boat's weight. Based on what he's written, it sounds like he did the normal thing and calculated the weight himself. I don't make a habit of checking other people's homework :) but... let's do just a quick check of the main things... 6,500 boat...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

For those that don't know the term, in his first post he stated that 9,400lbs is the "WET" weight. Wet weight is engines, fuel, water, etc.

Question for Grady Owners for older boats 1997 are so

Ha! First sentence is still not a sentence! :) But that's OK, I can decipher. I've "heard" that, too - but to be honest, I've never spent any time trying to find parts as I never had a need. Are they TRULY hard to find parts for? I dunno. Probably harder than other makes, though. Main...

285 Freedom on a 10,000lb lift... any issues?

I don't have the exact answer... but I 100% agree with your line of thinking. Totally safe for that weight. And you likely won't even be at 9,400 all the time. But it's not like the lift is going to magically break at 10,100lbs. I have some friends with lifts and they're right at the max or...

Question for Grady Owners for older boats 1997 are so

Can you correct your first sentence? It's hard to understand. But, with the jist of your post about whether it's a good buy or not... ANY boat that old can have issues. It really all comes down to how it was cared for. One thing, in particular, about the GW's is to look at the transom -...

Grady White Sleeper seat convert to Pedestal?

I'd venture a guess that they don't drill a hole if they don't have to. But you should be able to look under the slider and see whether or not it's there. You didn't mention what model you have, but open the slider and check. Either way, it's sort of a moot point - you need a hole if you want...

    Automatic Trim Tab Controls

I suppose it depends on what brand tab system you have. Bennett? At a quarter century old, it could be anything. Assuming Bennett... Bennett's system works as intended - have used that plenty of times. Mente makes one that I've read other's using with good marks - and I believe the install...
