Hi GW216. Last trip was 7/18/26. Highlight was hooking a striped marlin on the troll, hook pulled after a few minutes and jump (north 181). We hit a few paddys, fish had lock jaw. We lost one yellowtail in the kelp. I'm headed out again this saturday, it may be a little bumpy out there though.

Hi all - does anyone used a hydrofoil on their GW? I have a GW Adventure 208 and am considering. Pros/Cons from anyone that has gone with this on GW 208 or similar model.

The dremel was the best tool I found to cut these hoses out in that small area. It was an effort, luckily my boat is on a trailer.

I currently have an ACR PLB on the boat. I typically fish 10 + miles offshore. Should I be considering an EPIRB or do you all think a PLB is sufficient? I have an Adventure 208.

Sean - 100% agree with you on being comfortable. I know the boat and crew can handle more challenging conditions, but why? I am going out to to have fun, not to get beat up and frustrated.

I posted this in another thread and thought I'd add it here as well. I got tired of looking at the original cuddy cushions and decided to try an easy fix. I used marine vinyl and staples to adhere the vinyl to the existing cushion backers. For the longer side cushions, I made 1/4 inch backers...

I ordered my vinyl from Marine Vinyl Fabric. I'm happy with the product. I did not sew. I stapled the fabric to a 1/4 backing on the larger cushions. Not perfect - but much better that what was there before.

I've had great luck with the Costco Interstates as well. I use 2 - Interstate 24 DC marine/rv batteries - I run a bait tank, vhs, chartplotter all day w/o issue. I change mine every 5 years, more for piece of mind than need. Keep them trickle charged when not in use.

My 208 had the bilge pump installed on the bottom of the hull (the blue float switch and 1100 GPH red pump). I added a 2nd bilge for redundancy (The white on the hull floor). The 2nd bilge has its float switch mounted about 9 inches higher on the bulk head, it also has a high water alarm...

I typically use the cheap harbor freight pliers and replace when needed, aftco bait nets and aftco scissors. The aftco bait nets are awesome! The jury is out on the scissors, I usually by several at a time and know I will replace thru the season.
