I honestly don't know - all I do is click the envelope at the top right or just hover over the person's name. Maybe it's because you're not an "active" memeber? It would seem reasonable that DM's may not be allowed until after X amount posts to ward of spammers.

Replacing Battery Compartment doors on 2001 Fisherman 222

Of course! Remember that you're only looking for HDPE, not necessarily the "brand" Starboard. Mcamaster Carr is a good source for this - although it's easy enough to find. If you have a local marine store (a real one), they shoudl be able to order a small sheet for you, as well.

Replacing Battery Compartment doors on 2001 Fisherman 222

Another thought... would a piece of canvas and a few snaps do the job? But, HDPE is pretty easy to work with. If you're at least decent working with wood - you'll be fine with HDPE. It would be a fun little project that you could do at your own pace... maybe over the Winter... since it's...

Replacing Battery Compartment doors on 2001 Fisherman 222

I assume you mean gelcoat, not fiberglass? Depending on what the core structure is will determine how easy it is to fix. Some the Grady's used this pressed-type junky core that makes things difficult and/or not worth it. You could use them to make a mold and make your own. Or, what about...

Splashwell and Scupper Tube Flare Tools

Or... use the two piece push-together plastic fittings - check TH Marine. Pretty ingenious. Used them myself on my mother's 192 and very happy with them. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Holding Tank Discharges Without Turning On Macerator

A transfer pump looks a lot like a Vac pump (suction pump). T-pump and S-pump. The T-pump has 2 duckbills in it rather than 4 like an S-pump and is often black instead of white. It's possible those duckbills got inverted or damaged. Follow the discharge line from the holding tank. It may or...

Fuel meter on Yamaha 6YC Information Station

Of course! Doing the method I mentioned is super easy and only requires 4th grade math and a $10 Harbor Freight multimeter - no EE degree needed

Holding Tank Discharges Without Turning On Macerator

Open the pump out fitting and see if that eliminates the problem. For overboard discharge, do you have a true macerator or a transfer pump?

    Tournament 192 Cockpit Cover

Strange - any decent canvas maker can make a cockpit cover to your specs - they'll take measurements of the boat and make as good as, or better, than OEM. Try RNR Marine or A&J Canvas - they might already have the pattern. Note: If you order a pre-made cover, you'll still need to install the...

Fuel meter on Yamaha 6YC Information Station

Please re-read - I mentioned to pull the sender OUT of the tank. I understood what you meant - which was why I recommended that. You can also do the five levels that way by noting the float level compared to the Ohm reading using simple math of the percentage of the Ohm reading.

Fuel meter on Yamaha 6YC Information Station

Can you just pull the sender at least partially out of the tank? That will put the float at the "empty" range.

Replacing Battery Compartment doors on 2001 Fisherman 222

Pics? Or what are they made out of? HDPE? Assuming that... you can make them yourself - or there are online companies that can make them to your spec. "Maybe" you can still buy them from GW... but it's going to be expensive since they have to make them again.

marine head wont fill with water on Freedom 235

If you're positive that whatever style head you have uses fresh water - you'd have to tell us specifically what you have since there are different kinds - and since you're not getting water out of a fresh water washdown - and assuming you're not mistaking it with a raw water washdown - check the...

    Plastic cup holders

I don't know why this is ringing a bell, but try the brand Beckson? Or... get some plastic spray paint from HD Or... go SS

New to the forum with my first question bout motor mount hight.

That's some very good information and well documented, Brian. I gotta say... I'm also surprised at the increase you got - I would not have expected it to be that noticeable. But then, on smaller boats a singl ehole change tends have a bigger impact than it does on bigger hulls. Either way...

    Stratoglass on 209 Fisherman?

Based on your first pic, it seemed like you had a bimini top? Just curious, why are those straps being used instead of something simple like turn snaps? But... looks good!

    Stratoglass on 209 Fisherman?

Just put them wherever it makes sense for you - there's no magical place to put them so don't overthink this one Adding onto the above - take into account where the straps will be when opened and where the eye will be when the bikini isn't being used. Again, this is what works best for YOU -...

    226 Seafarer anchor light wire

Windshields are actually pretty simple to take apart. I highly doubt the wire is secured inside the windshield... but any sharp bend will make it hard to pull - sometimes pushing and pulling helps - but those hard angles are tough. You know what would be even easier? Just install a pole light...

    Swim ladder cover?

In any of the boats that I've owned that have a ladder sticking out like that, I just avoid bumping into things :) But... if you don't use the ladder often, maybe something like a swim noodle that you you slit and use some bungees? Maybe a rubber door mat that you let hang over the ladder...
