I didnt say that. I said it is a great all around platform that I prefer as an avid fisherman vs. a bow rider. And as far as unusable, you should see the 265's on the west coast. Cabin is loaded with rods, tackle etc. very fishy boats.
It doesn't. The origional 265 was an express cabin style fishing machine which is no longer available. Then next closest is the 30. The 265 was a great combination fishing machine and family boat. Just saying the change to a bow ridder eliminates that. To each their own. You are right its just...
Well........I have never tied my own knot till I saw your linked video so I thought .........what the hell that looks easy enough......... and look what happened yesterday!! My knot held perfectly for this nice 200 lber. Thank you for the recommendation and confidence.
Nice job on the first biggun! I know how it is to battle these norcal blues. Nothing like fitting one on a socal boat with a rail. My only suggestion is to get a Harpoon too. Its heartbreak when they surface 6 feet out and you have to. let them circle back down under the boat because the gaff...
Did anyone ever find a picture of the bases for this project? I keep trying to find something but the only thing close is a rod holder mount? There has to be something better.
Man! what a bust! I was pulling my boat before the trip and saw this at the ramp. So needless to say I didnt get to take the boat down. We did however go out to the island on the ferry.......... Hope you guys are getting into something good
Hey! Hope your trip is going well. We will be pushing off to catalina on July 17th-19th. Let us know if you find anything. This will be our first time going offshore in socal.
I do keep the boat in a slip but use it on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. It has dual engines and both tanks were replaced 2 years ago. All fills replaced too. As for our fuel yeah im in CA so we have Ethanol so that sucks. We dont really "put away" Here since i crab in the winder and there is...
Whats changed? I replaced the fuel tanks that had 1/4" holes in the top!!! Amazing how much that helps. I'm not having water problems now that i know of. Just havnt seen fuel react this way before when changing the fuel water separators and found it interesting. I let it set and was seeing this...
I was changing my fuel water separator today and like the good home mechanic i dumped the contents into a jar to check for water/crud. Didnt see any separation of water but did see this? Any ideas? Fuel just evaporating and condencing back into the jar? Keep an eye on the condensing drops as...
Agree to disagree on this one. I can remember to lower the gate before raising the motors which only happens at the end of the day. I cannot control corrosion and mother nature. But I am also in a very unforgiving Pacific Ocean so take it for what it is....
Might I also recommend a dead bolt slide lock on the sides so it cannot "Fall" during rough seas. Thats how mine broke since the lil ball locks tend to corrode.
