Hi all - setting up a 2026 SoCal Fishing chat.
Last few weeks I fished La Jolla for 1 white seabass and 1 yellowtail. Went offshore on last trip for nada.
Headed out this weekend (7/11/26) - leaving Oceanside at 5 am headed off to 209 or 14 mile.
Hit me up on 72 "Pau Hana" if you head out!

Hey! Hope your trip is going well. We will be pushing off to catalina on July 17th-19th. Let us know if you find anything. This will be our first time going offshore in socal.

Hi Sea Shift! I went Saturday 7/11. I left Oceanside and headed towards the 14 mile bank area and West. Choppy water at the bank made it difficult to see kelps We hit about 10 paddies all day and only scored 1 yellowtail, 17 lbs. We did see another yellowtail on a smaller paddy, it just would not bite. Bait was terrible... I'll be out again this weekend if the weather is good. Good luck at Cat, always fishy there!

Hi GW216. Last trip was 7/18/26. Highlight was hooking a striped marlin on the troll, hook pulled after a few minutes and jump (north 181). We hit a few paddys, fish had lock jaw. We lost one yellowtail in the kelp. I'm headed out again this saturday, it may be a little bumpy out there though.

ALI'I KAIA 2017GW express 34' HuntingtonHarbor; just returned from Catalina, San Clemente, Tanner ridge searching for blufin, water was 68-70 little windy Thursday through Sunday soonish.

Ali'i Kaia - any luck? I was out to 209, 312 and 181 on Saturday. Only 1 mahi to show for it. A few kelps. but yellowtail did not bite... I'll be out again this weekend if we have good weather, may launch in San Diego this time and head further south.

Hey Guys, I am heading to Catalina from Long Beach on 7/26 for the week. @Sea Shift, how was your trip? @Sdfish , how was your trip this past weekend?
Man! what a bust! I was pulling my boat before the trip and saw this at the ramp. So needless to say I didnt get to take the boat down. We did however go out to the island on the ferry.......... Hope you guys are getting into something good

Zero luck. Few dolphin pods, lots of kelp and a Tuna tournament crowd trolling from 209 to catalina escarpment to fans worth. Got very choppy too....good thing we're tenacious, will not get discouraged
