Yeah the 265 it totaly different. My bulk head was not glassed in just two bolted in 2x4s and no cutting involved. The fills are not as accessible however, they are below and behind the cabin sink. at least an arms length away. Real P.I.A.

I too keep mine in a ditch bag. Figure "In the even" its much easier to direct someone to GRAB THE YELLOW BAG!!!! Than have one person dedicated to try and pull it from somewhere. The bags float as well.

Let us know how the commissioning goes. I have simard as well but have heard they can be finicky to hold a line. I agree with the suggested compass location. It should be low near center line unless you get the HS 75 which can be mounted anywhere.

I second Glacierbaze's comment. I mounted one on my 265 no problem. Thru bolt and seal the holes and do not let it shine on the bow. Otherwise it is as straight forward as you think. Black Oak LED are awsome!
