I prefer to fly my flag from the top of the hard top. The only downside is a bit of pain to access and it can be a bit noisy underway.

How did it come out?

I had a an 05 Gufstream and it was powered with F225. There was never really an underpower issue. If the budget allows, it a little more speed and power is always nice. Twin 150's would be great . 300 certainly a big upgrade over 225. Good luck i- 23 is a great boat for it's size.

I have not had the pleasure of completing this task as mine is still in decent shape. That mid berth wall supplies a lot of access to wiring and water hose to the cabin area too.
