    WTB Adventure 208 / Seafarer 228

My wife has talked me out of selling our 2003 208 so I've deleted those posts. My health issues are manageable and we're looking forward to a few more years enjoying our awesome boat. If you ever need help with transporting a boat from the East Coast - or anywhere for that matter - we used...

Interior Cabin Light Replacement 2003 Adventure 208

Yes the older light did get very hot indeed. We opted for small camping lanterns and solar LUCI lights - especially the LUCI candle lights. But I will be glad to get the proper cabin light back. Bennet Trim Tabs and new bottom job coming next. Thank you again.

    208 Adventure Speaker Placement

The rear inspection hatches under the aft seats is a wet area for speakers. I’d opt for the pic in the cockpit - or for sure hung from the hardtop seems the safest- most enduring place to put speakers.

Interior Cabin Light Replacement 2003 Adventure 208

Hello! I’m not having luck finding a replacement interior cabin light for our 2003, 208. The original RAMCO pictured doesn’t seem available. What have you used as a replacement cabin light?

    Cup holder covers???

I dropped the right sized stainless screws into each of our 208’s cup holder drain-holes, and the screw heads fit and work great as plugs. No cover needed, and they do not interfere with cups in place. After a wash down for example, the cup holders are filled a little, but the bilge is dry. You...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

Thanks Steve! I think the 200 G2 was something like 27 lbs heavier than our 175 HPDI. She's rated to 230 hp (the newer 208s are at 250 hp.) I wonder about trim tabs but we keep her in a slip year round and the extra holes make me hesitant. It would be nice to help keep the balance right, but...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

Finally a pic. We love our 2 stroke. WOT reached 45 mph with bottom paint in the right conditions. She's just solid. Thank you all for input. The lower RPM performance is impressive. Not exact for sure, but she can now plane 17mph to 19mph+ in rough stuff at 3100-3300 RPM with NO trim tabs...

    Possible Re-power 07 Marlin

Just to add another bonus point with the G2s: No oil changes ever. Also the transferable 10 year warranty should/ could add resale value to your boat in case you move on within that time. Addition: There's zero belts or chains. Magneto power. The G2 is smarter than I am by far which is a good...

    98 Grady 208 repowered Etec 150HP HO

Solid choice for sure! A local harbor patrol fleet out here on Catalina Island has been gradually converting each patrol boat over from Volvo Penta I/O to 150 HP Evinrude Etec G1s, and they’re putting thousands and thousands and thousands of hours on them. By now other island harbor patrols have...

    209 escape repower

The modern Evinrude’s are awesome. Made in Wisconsin USA. (masterminded in North America) The 5 to 10 year warrantee being offered without service issues may be enough to compensate for the geographic setbacks you have with a dealer. Also - the Evinrude’s tilt-up clean out of the water. Leaving...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

I just gotta add that while crossing back home from Avalon - at happier than usual cruising speed - I was able to take my hands off the wheel and the boat held a straight course without veering for an unusually long time - only veering from the swells after awhile. The RX4 is rad for this...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

Yes, me too. The RX4 is awesome and the 18” pitch is perfect for a 200 hp G2 on the Adventure 208. 5800 RPM and got to 45 MPH so far in bumpy conditions. (the 175 HPDI topped out at 40 mph 5600 RPM). It’s a relatively big propeller and really holds tight in turns at speed. Zero cavitation. I'm...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

Steve- that’s fast! I can’t wait to see what this G2 will be like… The G1 150 HO was my dream motor for years and years. They look great on Grady’s too.

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

The re-power is taking some time due to new electronics also being installed, as well as a few other extras while she’s out of the water – in addition to busy season coming on. We should have her back in the water in the next week or two but so far we’re going to run the RX4 15 x 18” first and...

    Anchor Marine in NJ

The dealership extensively... Based on our experience in June 2015, we give Anchor Marine in Farmingdale a Five Star+ rating with 100% customer satisfaction. We bought our (2003) 208 from them personally sight-unseen by me from Long Beach CA, via the internet basically – and I literally have...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

I think you’re right re horsepower Lt. Mike. My mechanic says hypothetically that the 150hp G2 would outperform my 175 HPDI by a lot. The G2 “challenge” videos on the Evinrude site are impressive. I’m sure she’ll be a very different 208 after the re-power! I just saw an image of the twin...

    208 re-power with 200 hp E-tec G2 - which prop?

It’s called the Perfect 10. Here’s the fine print from the Evinrude website. You may need to look up their B.E.S.T. contract literature for an answer to that... "©2017 BRP US Inc. (BRP). All rights reserved. ®,™ and the BRP logo are trademarks of Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. or its...
