Looking for a good upholstery shop

I'm looking for a good upholstery shop in Connecticut or nearby to redo the cushions on my 2002 192. I am also missing the rear starboard seat and one of the bow bolsters if anyone has 192 cushions they would like to sell. Thank you!

2001 Tournament 192 Battery switch: Location?

I am the second owner of my 192, and when I got it, both batteries and the switch were under the starboard seat, with the switch mounted to the starboard inside wall. I noticed that the boat leaned a bit to starboard when docked with the weight of both batteries and the helm on that side. I...

    Motor Trim Indicator

Thank you both for your help. I found the problem. There is a plastic part that is attached to the steering tube. This part functions as a cam that drives the trim sensor, and it had broken. Seems like a very cheap part for the quality of engine. Luckily it does not appear to be expensive...

    Motor Trim Indicator

First time out this season, and everything worked great except the motor trim indicator was not functioning properly. It was reading 5 bars (all the way up) no matter where the motor was trimmed. Anyone know what might be wrong? It worked fine all last season. I have a 3 year old F150...

Took The Grady out yesterday do these numbers sound right?

Jellyfish - you might pick up a little more top speed if you try trimming out further. I am always surprised at how far I can trim out the motor at faster speeds, and continue to pick up speed without cavitation. Try trimming out until the motor starts sounding funny and then trim back down...

1990 GW 19' Tournament scupper question

I have a 2002 192, and the bottom of the scuppers are right at the water line. If I put a kicker motor on and have a couple of folks standing at the same corner, some water comes in but drains back out when the people move away from that corner. My scuppers are not below the water line but are...

185 Tournament or older 192 Tournament

I had the exact same sorts of questions 3 years ago when I was looking. I think they are both fine boats with advantages and disadvantages. I went with the 192 because it seemed much roomier in the area behind the windshield, which is where I wanted the room for fishing or accommodating a...

Looking for insights with horn problem on 208 Adventure

The horn on my 192 filled with water from the huge amount of rain this spring/early summer. It sounded like a goat in labor. I dried it out and it started sounding fine again.

    Wooden Grady Whites

I have a 1964 16 ft Mason (Canadian boat) with an 80hp Johnson. It is very similar to the Grady White Pamlico in the wooden boats catalog on the Grady website. Your boat looks beautiful!

    Yamaha F150 RPM spike

I have the same setup - Tournament 192 with the F150, and am very happy with the combination. If I have the motor trimmed up 3 bars and turn sharply I get cavitation and the RPM increase. I still trim it up at least that far if I am just cruising. If I am going to be turning sharply a lot...

    1994 tournament 19 open bow

Tictaktug, you asked if the boat is a true deep V, and it is not. I have a 2002. The ride is still very good and the boat is very stable. I added trim tabs to be able to get the nose down when heading into a chop and am really glad I did. The tabs allow a slower plane in these conditions and...

    Battery swith for 192 tourney

Hi Ray, My switch is mounted on the starboard sidewall of the boat, under the rear seat. I have one battery there and the second battery under the port side rear seat. The switch is a little awkward to get to, but it is well hidden and well protected. It works for me (but so does...

    Classic Motor Repair

Bob - You are right- the water seems to work fine in the lower unit! I bought the motor as part of a deal on an antique boat last summer, and there was oil leaking from the first time I used it. I was not sure where the oil was coming from but it ran like a top all last season. The motor is...

    Classic Motor Repair

I have a 1966 80 HP Johnson with electric shift (on a wood boat - not my Grady), and the lower unit needs to be rebuilt. Water is getting into the oil quickly, and plenty of oil is leaking onto the cavitation plate and prop with each use. Does anyone know of someone they would recommend to...

    Prop question

I have a 2002 Tournament 192 with a 150HP 4 stroke. The prop pitch is 17" and I reach close to 6000 RPM at full throttle (43 mph). If you have a 19" prop, you may want to consider trying a 17" one.

    Tournament 190 vs 192

I have a 192 with a 150 four stroke. 17" pitch painted stainless prop (I polished the paint off once it started looking ugly. Top speed is 44mph at about 5800 - 5900 rpm.

EZ Loader Bunk to Roller Conversion

I also have not been thrilled with my EZ Loader roller trailer. It can be a struggle to get the boat on level and straight, and the rust is non-stop even with thorough rinsing.

Modify old trailer or buy a new one?

I spoke with the folks at Tidewater Trailers today about their trailers. They make what they call a pivoting bunk trailer which you can get with poly covers on the bunks (4 of them). Supposedly this design provides the even support and consistent alignment of a bunk trailer with easier...
