Our boat with similar Rupp outriggers required about 25 feet for clearance.
Easy way to measure it is to put a small cord in the outrigger clip and run it up the outrigger while in the stowed position. Then measure the length of that cord from the outrigger tip to the water surface.
Had a similar leak on one of our engines. I did not attempt the repair myself but the marina technician repaired it in about 15 minutes while the boat was in the water.
I have seen an older 330 Express with the folding ladder mounted to the port side directly on the surface of the swim platform. Mounting on the port side eliminates interference with the opening of the transom door.
Sorry but I do not have a picture.
I am considering doing the same on our 2002.
I bought new hull side decals for our Express 33 from Discontinue Decals recently. They look good but are flat vinyl. This is a good approach for those decals that are no longer available from Grady or as OEM old stock.
Mine had Rupp outriggers of approximately the same length. Vertical clearance was 25 feet. Measure it by tying a line to the clip and running it up the pole, then measure the length of line from the raised clip to the water
The panels are difficult to remove and install. Get a snap tool to ease the process.
I leave mine off most of the year. Last winter was so mild that I only installed the panels between the windshield and hardtop.
My transducer is significantly to the starboard side, just beyond the starboard end of the generator. Function is good at cruising speeds. I will try to remember to take a photo next time I am on the boat.
Thanks for all of the information. The cabinet design in that area is a little different in the 2002 but I think I would end up with a similar result. I am going to reconsider this approach
Thanks again
My boat had the arm rest covers replaced as part of the purchase. I read this thread with the suggestion to put low cut socks over them, tried it, and I have to say it works really well!! Much more comfortable than the feel of the bare plastic.
I contacted Boat Outfitters and submitted several photos and dimensions. After review they decided the cover plate was going to be too difficult to be cost effective. They did offer to quote a rectangular box without the cover plate but that would only be half finished.
I am going back to...
