I have an ACR ResQLink Personal Locator Beacon That I keep on the boat. The battery is overdue to be changed. Has anyone opened one of these up and changed the battery themselves? If so, is it a pretty simple deal with an easy to acquire battery or is it better to send it of to the maker?

If those things work on a Wi-Fi system, there are little fob-like little signal boosters that are used all the time to make back-up cameras on the back of a towed RV send a stronger signal to the tow rig. Maybe that would solve your intermittent problem. They are just a little "dongle-like" thing.
