    Treasure coast fishing

Season is over for me, strapping down the boat and heading north in a week. Last week of fishing was insane. 3/7 on sailfish, 12 mahi, and a few nice kingfish. Should have done better on sails but had to fish alone a lot. All trolling skirted bally which everyone says does not work this time...

    Hatch gas struts

My old Grady has the spring mechanism to keep hatch open. I would like to convert to strut. Not sure how to measure length, any help with that.

    Treasure coast fishing

Out by myself today. Got 4 nice Mahi and my right thigh. Number three went ballistic when I brought him in an somehow managed to hook me with the second bally hook. He was on one hook and my leg on the other. I had a death grip on his head with my right hand and couldn't cut the hook with my...

    Ignition Problem

When it comes to that problem. Shift lever bumped out of neutral, engines do not start and mild panic ensues. My observation is that "there is them that has and them that will"

suzuki smg4 gauge and total fuel flow

Noticed that over the last several trips occasionally the gauge (starboard) set to that screen does not read total fuel flow but only the engine it is connected to. This seems to occur late in the trip and often after drifting or trolling when I power up to cruise. I never shut the engines...

    Treasure coast fishing

Drifting live baits of Ft Pierce inlet. My rod got smacked hard and fish on, 2 seconds later my buddies rod is hit and fish on. Its the same fish, hooked on both rods. We both fought him for a good 10 minutes, it was chaos, for sure. For some reason he says he gets credit!

    raymarine suzuki communication

Ok ignorance is bliss, but I should have known this all along. The cable that I assumed came from the transom did no such thing. That was the gps source and connects to the back of the Garmin supplying gps data to Zukes gauges. Good learning experience, cleaned up a bunch of sloppy wiring...

    raymarine suzuki communication

Once again you are correct. The cable does not connect at the end of the backbone but connects at one of the tee's. So I suppose it is a "drop". I know where one end of this cable terminates at the backbone which also has the power coming in and where the 2 drops for the gauges are located. I...

    raymarine suzuki communication

"1 engine data" My research showed that Suzuki dual engines can be set up with only one backbone cable running from the transom to the helm. So what I meant was "only 1 engine data cable" not the 2 I would have expected run from the engines to the helm backbone. It is done with the adapter...

    raymarine suzuki communication

Focus Skunk, stick to the problem at hand. Hehehe.... Just noticed only 4 cables at the Suzuki backbone. 1 power, 1 for each gauge, and one engine data. Somehow and I would love to know where each engine data cable merges at dual engine hub and a single data cable goes to the helm backbone.

Ok, just bought the new mfd. Made a cardboard template of the 12 in mfd and did a test fit. It fits but just barely and I am it sure would be a pain opening the cabin hatch/door. It is an old boat and the console is full, so has to be a trundle mount. So decided to go down to the 9 in which...

    Refrigerator...

did as those above did, pulled the fridge and use space for storage. did however get a small 12v/120v freezer. it sits where the small table was in the v berth. wired to DC panel. we don't waste bally, chum, squid, etc,,, anymore. just thaw as needed. second best addition after auto pilot.

    raymarine suzuki communication

currently all engine data comes from smg4 gauges, no info on the raymarine or garmin mfd as neither is connected to the suzuki backbone. as i see it i have 2 network backbones. number one is the suzuki engine backbone which is nmea2000 and the only info input is from the engines. the other is...

West Marine has the 5x points again and am thinking of upgrading my 9 in garmin to a 12 in raymarine. I already have a 9 in raymarine and and evo 150 ap which I like . I like a lot of screen. Recently Suzuki and Ray have worked it out to have engine data visible on the Axiom plus mfd. I...

    225 1999 turnament wiring Simrad 3100 and Lowarnace NEP-2

From what I have seen the ignition switch does not power or turn on/off accessories on most boats. A better solution would be a switch or small switch panel. Look at New Wire marine for ideas. Hopefully a battery switch does control power to the fuse block.

    Bilge Wiring Diagram - 1999 Bimini 306 - adding a bilge alarm

Well I am in it now. As I see it this is not an alarm, but a sound indicator that the system has been energized by either the manual switch or the automatic float switch. The only alarm or failure indicator would be no sound when manually energizing via the switch to test or use the system...

    Bilge Wiring Diagram - 1999 Bimini 306 - adding a bilge alarm

I have been watching this and am not sure what the purpose is. As I see it the alarm only tells you voltage has been sent to the pump, but does not give indication of high water level or if the pump is actually pumping. Am I wrong?

just to clarify, new cushions, not painting the metal it is fine, only the white armrest, back and seat which has very worn finish, not mildew/dirt. I will try a good prep and krylon and give update
