Out by myself today. Got 4 nice Mahi and my right thigh. Number three went ballistic when I brought him in an somehow managed to hook me with the second bally hook. He was on one hook and my leg on the other. I had a death grip on his head with my right hand and couldn't cut the hook with my crappy wire cutters and left hand. After a few minutes he spit his hook and I cut the line. A pair of lineman's pliers cut the hook. I am putting one of my old surgery pin cutters on the boat They cut a 1/4 stainless pin with ease. Exciting day to say the least

yikes. hopefully you took all necessary steps to prevent an infection.

i got hooked once, as a kid. we were pond fishing and my buddy hooked my forearm with his cast. it was a much smaller hook than you got caught on though.

Season is over for me, strapping down the boat and heading north in a week. Last week of fishing was insane. 3/7 on sailfish, 12 mahi, and a few nice kingfish. Should have done better on sails but had to fish alone a lot. All trolling skirted bally which everyone says does not work this time of year!
