Adding a raw water washdown and live well to my 2009 Grady White 226 Seafarer

You only need one 3/4” pickup thru the bottom. The Shurflo Piranha has a dual port feature that allows you to attach a washdown pump to an outlet port at the blue case of the pump. You will need a 1/2”MPTx3/4” barb fitting. Get the small 500 piranha and the 3.5gpm Shurflo Blaster.

    2007 330 express repower considering 300 Suzuki

Which props do you have now? If you already posted. I don’t remember.

    Props for Marlin

You need 16" diameter props. Does merc offer that? Raising or lowering the engines is based on where the cavitation plate is in relation to the bottom of the boat. It should be about 3/4" above the hull bottom directly in front of the motor

    Props for Marlin

Moving the motors up and down is not normally a way of increasing or decreasing your WOT. That is done with props. I co owned and managed a large outboard dealership. I had to go to to PowerTech 4 Blade LFS props which are16” diameter props made specifically for Suzuki. I have a 330 Express with...

    Length of anchor rope

    I’ll try that. Thanks!

    Length of anchor rope

Yeah, 8 plait didn’t work as well in my in my Lewmar Pro Fish. I went back to 3 strand twist. It grabs that great. It just gets hard after a few years.

    Length of anchor rope

Excellent reply. Poly also floats, which is a invite for it to get into the prop. Nylon twist anchor rode (line) is the standard. Top shelf is 8 plait nylon. Never Poly.

Added a Bow Thruster to My 330 Express

New England Bow Thrusters did mine. They had done numerous Grady 330's previously. The have 3 locations. RI, NC and SC. They are the best. Ive been in the Industry 45 years. These are the guys to do it. They will travel and set up shop for 3 days at a yard. I chose the Vetus Pro Bow for the...

    Survey for 2003 330 Express

Dampness is going to be somewhat presenot in a 20 year old boat. My 1979 33 Bertram showed water everywherre in it’s solid glass hull. I sand blasted it and ran heat lamps on it for years. I put 7 coats of Interprotect on it. It still showed dampness! I ran the hell out of it. And sold it for...

    Survey for 2003 330 Express

I own a 2002 Grady 330 Express. Ive owned it for 3 years. Everyone goes crazy over moisture readings. I’m a past surveyor. Every older boat has moisture. The question is. Can this moisture create a problem for me. It’s around 97 or 98 that Grady switched to Greenwood Plywood. This stuff is...

    330 Express cockpit deck drains

You can barely see where the previous owner had an inspection plate put in to replace the hoses. It’s just under the open transom door.

    2007 330 express repower considering 300 Suzuki

You don’t want to give up that 16” diameter if you have a heavy boat. Suzuki created the dual reduction gears so you could swing a bigger prop and get a hole shot more like a two stroke. The LFS 4 blade were built for big heavy boats like Grady Express models. you can sell you Suzuki Props on...

    2007 330 express repower considering 300 Suzuki

That would be correct. In addition, The PowerTech Props are incredibly tough. The Suzuki props are really soft. They are made by Solas. Need I say more.

    2007 330 express repower considering 300 Suzuki

Yeah, I’ve got the Powertechs. They solved my problem of blowing out and cavitation. My boat came with 17” 3 blade Suzuki props. I bent one bringing the boat home. I was able to straighten it on the bank of the Okeechobee canal With a pipe wrench and a hammer. The metal was ridiculously soft.

    2007 330 express repower considering 300 Suzuki

I am still running the 16x16’s. I spent a pile on a bow thruster, so I haven’t plunked down for the props yet. I’m still hitting the rev limiter, so my guess is the 17’s might be the way to go.

    330 transom rot

How do you know you have moisture? Is this a reading from a moisture meter? Your boat has Greenwood Brand Plywood in the transom. That stuff is pretty much rot proof. The 330’s are not generally prone to transom issues. They tend to have issues with the balsa coring in the hull sides, if they...

What is the newest GW that has experienced wood transom issues?

Greenwood is a great product. Fountain used it too. Structurally, it is superior to the composites. They only stopped using it for marketing purposes. I have an 2002 330:Express , and my transom is as solid as a rock. You do need to inspect and or replace your motor well drains With lots of 5200.
