Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

Well it took forever but I finally got the mount back from the fabricator. Now it’s off to get powder coated.

Did you do the work yourself or did you have someone here in Martin County do it?

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

Good point, unfortunately it’s already being made and I did want it to be permanent. I’m going with 3 12v Interstate batteries in the compartment under the mid berth along with a genie 3 bank charger. My plan is going to be changing it up to lithium at some point but I got the batteries for...

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

I have finished a wood template for my 96” Rhodan for my 282. I did not want to cut the bow rail so I made a plate that attaches to the pulpit. I have some preliminary pictures though I have extended the final template back to the windless. I attached a rope to the bottom of the shaft to...

For Sale 2001 Grady White 282 Sailfish

Did you try boat trader.com or facebook? I created a facebook account just to find my current boat and deleted once I bought it.

    2001 268 Islander very unstable.

I had a ‘95 with twin 200HPDIs and it did the same thing. I ran into an old GW transporter one day at Home Depot that asked me which model I had (was wearing a GW shirt). He told me that the hardtop plus cabin made the model notoriously list coming off of wakes or waves and that was the same...

Advice on first Grady White purchase

I have a family of 5. My wife packs enough stuff for a day trip to the sandbar to last us 3 days. We also bring our 2 golden retrievers with us often unless we are heading offshore. Our last boat was a 268 Islander and our current boat is a 282 Sailfish. The Sailfish is perfect for us...

    Trailer for ‘01 282 Sailfish

It’s carrying weight is 9k and the trailer fits up to a 32’ boat. It was built for a 28’ Everglades. I could carry it empty of fuel, water and gear but I’d like to not have to worry about that. It’s fine for hurricane haul outs in a pinch I think but I’d like to take it to the Keys.

    Trailer for ‘01 282 Sailfish

I’m looking for a trailer for my 282 Sailfish with twin i4 F200’s and was wondering what everyone has. I have a 9000k Float On from my last boat but I’m not sure it is sufficient. I do plan to put 250’s on it at some point. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

1996 Grady Islander Stringer rot repair

My ‘95 was the same. On top of that the sides of the fiberglass on the stringers were higher than the wood making a “U” shape at the top of the stringer with no fiberglass on the top of them. The stringer was directly under the caulk line of the floor plate which means water would collect in...

    Refit of 2002 282 - It begins

I have an ‘01 and want to do the same thing. Did you have to raise the scuppers or do any work to the transom? Will be following for sure!

Sailfish 282 Deck Drain Hose Cutting Access Hole

I had mine done a few years ago without cutting a hole. They removed the batteries to get access. When I had my Islander done they, different shop, they did cut a square hole and put on a hatch.

Ocean South Stern Shade on 282

Does anyone have an Ocean South stern shade on a 282 or 272? I’m planning on buying one soon but was wondering which size to get. I’ve measured and I found the cabin cruiser shade in size 12 is the closest. Figure I’d give this a week before I order to see if anyone had info. Thanks!

Can 1999 272 sailfish handle pair of f250 30" shaft

30” no, 250’s yes but you have to raise the scuppers. I looked at a ‘99 272 with F250’s and it was quick but the back of the cockpit had a bit of water in it because of the weight of the engines.

2002 Sailfish 282 back deck canopy, has anyone had one built?

I have been toying with the idea of mounting rod holders parallel to the hard top under the top and get the blue, fiberglass outriggers to mount in them. Then get some sunbella and sew pockets into it so the outriggers slide into them. Have to mount my regular outriggers first and see how much...

To fat or bad design? Maybe Both!

This drives me crazy. I had an Islander before my 282 with the companion bench and no prob. I’d love to swap the passenger chair for the bench and be over this issue.

Tuna tower on 268 islander 1999

I had a ‘95 that would always list coming off a wake and need a ton of tab to correct. I was at a Home Depot one day with a Grady shirt on and this guy asks me what I had. I told him a 268 and he asked if I had a hard top. I told him I did and he asked me about the list and said the top is...
