Help finding rubrail insert for older 1988 Offshore

Mudwasp had a post on here that he was able to find the rub rail and insert for his boat. I have pm'd him. I have a 1988 Offshore and my fiberglass guy installed a white insert over the navy blue rubrail. I don't like the look, it marks easily, and it can be pulled out with my fingertips. He...

Wiring to Fuel Main/Aux panel switch on helm

Yes, I understand but I like this modification previous owner must have done, this way I can see fuel capacity without having ignition on or at refueling. When the switch is down the LED lights up in the down position, when UP the led lights the up position. Also just seeing or feeling the...

I am going to use Pins 1,2,3 to run power up to the gauge, and pins 4,5,6 for the tank sending wires and 1 wire to sending input of gauge. Yes, gauge is analog. Trouble was I did not try this configuration thus was not getting a...

    Repair hatch with no wood??

Hi Mike: Same problem here. It seems you know what to do with the edges. See my pics. I sanded/grinded down to good material. Be sure use a respirator, safety googles, and long sleeves. Fiberglass dust is nasty, itchy, and you don't want to breathe it in. Then I used Epoxy mixed with cabosil...

    Gunwale non-skid repair/restoration...

Recoil Rob: I know that they used the same gelcoat, I read that here a few times, and that is a great price. I will be calling to NJ dealers to see if I can find a price like this today. I am wondering however if your glass guy still had to tint further the gelcoat to match the 2004 paint job. I...

    Gunwale non-skid repair/restoration...

"GW gelcoat from a dealer, about the same price" I bought a quart of gelcoat for $50, I just searched for Grady White factory from Spectrum is $150. Besides the price difference, you will never match gelcoat right from the bottle when you have an older boat. The hues/tint will be off as the...

    Gunwale non-skid repair/restoration...

The way I am going to repair my non-skid is to dremel the spider cracks open, then fill with either using gelcoat or epoxy in some other non-gelcoat cracks. But to get the non-skid I am going to add some sand. The gelcoat coloring I will try match as well as I can to a 30 year old colored sun...
