    Bow Thruster Shear pin

Bow Thruster Replaced 2 sp's last season. Over the winter, side powers rep company(IMTRA?) replaced my unit with an upgraded, 5 blade foot. Go to sidepower's web site - you can drill down to see pics of broken sp's and the cause. The way they shear often lets you know the casue. I would...

    New Marlin in the Family

New Marlin Upgraded last Feb from a Gulfstream to a Marlin - Had the same docking concerns as you. When I picked up the boat, it flet like a 40 footer!!! I can tell you after 117 hrs, trip to the Cheaspeake, etc., I don't look back. But, I always, always check the wind and the tide and...

    water in the bilge

Water In Bilge 232 Gulfstream - Water in forward bilge 30 Marlin - Water in forward bilge. The best I can tell is that it is fresh water. Neither boat had or has water in the stern bilge. Both boats have windless and I have never, nor has the dealer, been able to track the problem...

    Best Marinas in N.J.

Cape May Trip Live outside Atlantic City and travel to Cape May on a regular basis. My strong suggestion is to run outside from AC inlet to Cape May inlet. About a 45 min trip. Inside from AC to Cape May will take well over 2 hours. And if you don't have local knowledge, I would only go at...

    problem fueling 2008 Gulfstream

232 Fueling Had the same problem with my 2007 232. 2 issues were discovered by the dealer. (1) Fuel hose had a belly in it. A 12" pice was cut out which eliminated the hose belly, (2) The small vent flapper in the fill neck was missing and replaced by the dealer. Never had a problem...

New member Seafarer to Gulfstream info

Gulfstream I had a Gulfstream as my first Grady - The Biggest of their "small" boats. Once you ride the 23, you will feel like it is a 28 footer. We upgraded to the Marlin because we now do overnighters - tough on the Gulfstream. I would make sure you get twins. My single 250 was enough for...

    Marlin Information

Marlin Info I went from a Gulfstream to a Marlin this year - All I can say is buy it. We used our boat 90% of the time on family outings which included our 14 mo old grandson. In the 30ft class you can't find a safer, more stable boat. BTW - I have 250's

    bow thruster

I agree. My 2007 Marlin sheared the pin and it took my dealer about 30 mins to repair - but not under warranty. Make sure you carry a spare pin - the right size - the propeller shear pin is a different size. I would undertake this repair next time now that I saw how easy it was. Good Luck

Main Fuel Tank and 2nd Tank

Ran to the Chesapeake last week. Burned +/- 120 gals each way on the main leg of the trip. Once I arrived to the marina for the first night, I switched to tank 2. Did this 2 times during the trip. Any thoughts with running each engine on it's own tank and burning off each tank equally? I'm...

    Livewell - AC Question

I had an A/C unit installed on my 2007 Marlin. Per GW factory directions, installation used the existing saltwater washdown seacock. Washdown supply hose was relocated to a factory tap between the seacock and livewell pump. When the livewell seacock is open to use the washdown, while running...

Marlin 300 - Leaky Deck Drawer = Water in Forward Keel Area

My 2007 30 had a leaking deck drawer also. I reset the catch by taking a screwdriver and hammer - with a slight tap the catch will move deeper into the drawer cavity putting more pressure on the gasket around the drawer face. Now I need to investigate my bilge for leaks Good luck
