I had an A/C unit installed on my 2007 Marlin. Per GW factory directions, installation used the existing saltwater washdown seacock. Washdown supply hose was relocated to a factory tap between the seacock and livewell pump. When the livewell seacock is open to use the washdown, while running the livewell will fill with water. My thoughts are that pressure builds up and pushes water through the livewell pump, filling the livewell. My initial solution is to add an inline valve after the livewell pump. Ideally, if the valve is the right idea, install a 12volt valve wired to the livewell pump switch.

Any thoughts/comments?

Thanks

If the livewell seacock is open while running, water will push up the hose and fill the livewell. I agree that you could put an inline valve above the livewell pump and close it off when not needed.....however isn't there a seperate seacock for washdown, livewell, a\c, and generator, on my 305 there are 4 seperate seacocks. Why would you have used the washdown seacock for the a\c unit?

Ditto... Same as my 2005 Marlin. However, using the washdown pickup in this case makes sense being the a/c is an after production installation. Saves you a through hull pickup. You do need a shutoff valve somewhere between the factory tap and the livewell... just install it where you won't forget to open it before you start your livewell pump. You might need one for the a/c also.
