Are those the 200hp ? How is the water line to the scuppers?

Ok, thanks. Your scuppers were raised. Apparently 2002 on they made that adjustment for the heavier 4-strokes.

What year 282 did you have?

Did you ever get input? I’m replacing my 2001 200hp HPDI’s w/ Yamaha 225hp units @ 551lbs each.

Now we’re getting somewhere. I was aware of the drag increase. Continuous ventilation I did not account for. My thought was that the prop would be “more” in the water during rough water.

You obviously have the throne on experience. I never need my hand held, ever. Saying “it’s a bad idea” provides ZERO information to myself or others seeking different input. How about this way- What if someone used a slightly longer shaft, WHY is that bad for rough waters?

How would I know without asking? Having someone who has never done it, tell me it won’t work is not the input / knowledge I’m looking for. No offense. There is clearly more experience on here than I have. If someone says they HAD better results with a different length shaft. I WANT to know the WHY.

That’s why I am asking. Trying to see IF someone had a more positive outcome. Better in rough seas etc. I’m gathering info.

Has anyone used a shaft length other than the listed 25” ? If so, what was your outcome? Why did you? Satisfied? Thanks, DB

Hi all, new member and new (to me) Grady owner. As mentioned on my 282 I have twin 2001 HPDI Yamahas. Can anyone recommend their beat props for this boat? Looking for solid open water performance and best fuel economy. There are many other little things I will be asking about as I get to them...
