The engines are NOT 950 each. They are 489 each w/o oil, so call it 500. The F300 weighs about 585 with oil, so the net weight savings is about 415#. Not enough weight savings to make it work with his truck, and that boat is much nicer with twins.

I could never find one and we had the same ladder on our 2002 Islander 270 as you do.

Always used engine trim primarily. Only used tabs when I needed to push the bow down to cut into a head sea. Too much hull in the water on an Islander = bow steer and chine walk.
