    Tachometer

Hi, it's a 2 stroke with oil injection but with carbs, no fuel injection. It's pretty low tech. But I'll look for the green wire.

    Tachometer

Hi, thanks for your reply. The SS# is 0G051563 (I think the G is the only letter.) 2.5 L Offshore 200.

    Tachometer

Hello All, to answer the questions asked: The tach goes to zero when the key is turned on. And there it stays. The engine is a Mercury 200 "Black Max" and I think all the gauges and controls are from Mercury. Everything is original from 1994. I'd love to have new power but that would cost...

    Tachometer

Hello everyone! After working intermittently for a few months, the tach gauge on my 1994 Adventure 20 has stopped working at all. I'm trying to think of the most efficient way to troubleshoot this, considering it could be the gauge itself, bad connection somewhere, or perhaps no signal coming...

    Cabin Hatch Boards

Thanks everyone, for your responses! I ordered some precut pieces of Starboard HDPE in 1/2 inch thickness. Pretty expensive stuff, but at least it will not require any time or labor on my part.

    Cabin Hatch Boards

Hi, the cushions are long gone and need to be replaced also. I think having separate boards and cushions is best...rather than cushion attached to a board.

    Cabin Hatch Boards

Hello! I'm having to replace two of the hatch boards in the cabin of my 1994 Adventure 20. Any suggestions for a good material to use? The originals are plywood with a nice laminate on top and bottom. Not sure if this material is available anywhere. I would prefer something I don't have to...

    Steering wheel

Hello again, and thanks again for your generosity! However, this steering wheel is stuck on and I don't want to force it off. Probably that's how the hub got buggered up in the first place--someone trying to get the wheel off. It all works fine so I'm going to let it be. I'll work on bending...

    Steering wheel

That's very kind of you. Mine only has 5 spokes so it may be quite different. I'll have to make some measurements when I'm out at the boat this weekend.

Thanks so much! Let me know what you find.

    Steering wheel

Hello! Does anyone know what is supposed to be covering the hub of this steering wheel (1994 Adventure). It looks like someone got mad and pried it off!

    Grady 208 Adventure ???

Agreed! I'm very happy with my older 208. Even if I re-powered, fixed all the dings, and upgraded everything on the boat I'd be a long way from 100k.

electric trolling motor for adventure 208

A trolling motor would definitely push the 208 in calm and protected areas; I've used them on heavier boats. The engine mount option would be handy but I've noticed that MinnKota has stopped making them!

    Grady 208 Adventure ???

Personally, I don't think there should be any exterior upholstery on a boat, and this 218 has a lot of it.

    Grady 208 Adventure ???

Just in the last year it has disappeared from the line up.

    Ignition switch

I am contacting Max about it. Thanks.

    Ignition switch

There are a lot of switches that look compatible, but have to find out how to deal with 10 (yes ten!) leads from the current switch and what the wire codes mean. Newer switches have fewer wires.

    Ignition switch

Sorry, I forgot to say it has Mercury motor and controls; 200 HP. 1994.

    Ignition switch

Hello everyone! On my 1994 Adventure 20 the ignition switch has broken. The plastic threaded tube separated from the body of the switch, rendering it very awkward to use. (Have to hold the back of the switch while turning.) Does anyone know the correct replacement part for this? It seems to...

    40 amp breaker?

Thanks for your reply! I thought the wire was on the small side but it works ok and is original to the boat; I'm not going to add any accessories. The stock breaker is not great; there's no way to test and reset it. Will replace someday.....
