Drbatts, I understand your point. Luckily I'm 6'4". This is one of those times where height has it's avantages.

    Rocket Launcher with Sunshade

Freedom, thanks for the pic! That is exactly what I would want to do. There is a pipe shop that participates in all the boat shows near me, I'll reach out to them.

    Rocket Launcher with Sunshade

I'm looking at buying a used Freedom 307. Most of the models have the sunshade option, which I really dont want Has anyone added an after market rocket launcher to a boat with the electric sunshade? Seems like it should be doable.

    Freedom 307 - Pros & Cons

Thanks for the replies and input. Of the Freedom 307's I have seen so far, most have the electric sunshade, but a few have rocket launchers. The rocket launchers are my preference, as I really don't need a sunshade in NJ, and the sunshade just gets in the way of any casting. I was wondering...

    Freedom 307 - Pros & Cons

Looking ahead to my next possible boat. I am drawn to the dual consoles, and really like the extra seating up in the bow. Have looked at the Freedom 307 at the NY Boat Show and really liked it, though I would probably aim for a newer used boat (2018-2022). Shopping on line says there are...

    Sailfish Seat Upgrade From Pompanette

Used2sail, thanks for the tip. I just reached out to a local Pompanette dealer and they are going to check on the arm rests. It looks like Pompanette's new model T2005 captain's chair is very similar to the chair o my 2008 Sailfish. Will post an update when I hear back from the dealer.

    283 vs 306 canyon

Really? Do you ever use your boat? I tanked up this week and put over $500 of fuel into it. And that's after a few other tanks this summer, while fall fishing is still in front of us. The annual $4K sounds about right. That's the price of fishing and making trips out in the ocean, which are...

NJFisherman, did you ever buy either boat?

    265 Express performance

Your numbers sound about right. Dig around a bit more and you should be able to find a copy of the original performance chart for the 265 with 225's. Similar to attached. It has taken me two seasons to figure out my MPG. I tracked my gas usage, miles and hours. At the end of it all it turns...

    Sailfish Seat Upgrade From Pompanette

Wahoo and Hookup, thanks for posting your pics! Now I am torn. My seats need help. Not that they are ripped or stitching is coming apart, just well worn. The black spots on the arms of the captain's chair are not mildew, but the off-white color actually wearing away, exposing the black...

Can I retrofit new GW seats into my 275?

Wahoo, do you have any pics of your new seats that you can share? I have a 2008 Sailfish 282 and would like to get an idea of what new seats would look like. My originals are in decent shape, though the arm rest on the captain's chair is slihtly worn and the co-pilot chair keeps getting moldy...

Sailfish vs marlin vs older sportfish?

I agree with Legend. I also have 282 Sailfish. My dock neghbor has 300 Marlin. If you can swing it, skip the Sailfish and go for the Marlin. Wider, larger aft deck area, slightly larger cabin. I love my Sailfish for fishing with a couple of buddies, or with my wife and daughter, but 4...

Need to Replace Fold Down Bench Retaining Clips

Thank you all for your responses. Very good ideas! I have found a clip on-line for about $3 each (plus $5 shipping), which doesnt seem bad for 2 clips. And I have plenty of scrap PVC boards (Azek) that I should be able to use as a new base. Thanks again!

Need to Replace Fold Down Bench Retaining Clips

Hi. I need to replace the clips and their mounting blocks that hold the bar of the aft fold down bench in place (when in stored position). This is for a 2008 Sailfish 282. I contacted Grady White Service, and they were great. They gave me part number "10-152 CLIP 7/8" BLACK AFT SEAT...
